BOOK BAG REPORT

DIRECTIONS: Choose a chapter book that is at least 100 pages long to read. After you’ve finished reading your book, prepare to tell the class about the book by putting five objectsin a bag that relate to events in the book. For example, if you were doing a report on How To Eat Fried Worms, your bag might include some candy worms because Billy had a bet about eating worms in the book. You will need to write a seven sentence paragraph that explains how each of these items relates to the book. These seven sentences will consist of one topic sentence naming the five objects, five detail sentences telling how each object relates to the book, and one conclusion sentence telling how you feel about the book. You may type it or write it on lined white paper.

The front of your bag also needs to be decorated with labeled drawings or pictures of the main characters as you imagine them. Also include the title and author of your book along with your name on the front of the bag. A brown grocery bag or lunch bag might be the easiest to use, although you may use other bags too.

REMEMBER to always look back in the book for information and help. Also remember to work in this project a little bit each night so it doesn’t sneak up on you. Start reading a book as soon as possible. Below is a grading checklist to make sure you complete everything for the best grade.
