Job Posting for IELTS Administrator at ELS Language Center/DeKalb
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The IELTS Administrator is charged with the overall responsibility for ensuring that the IELTS center is operated in accordance with training provided by IELTS International, procedures set out in the IELTS Administrators’ Manual and any new policy notified to the Administrator by the IELTS Test Partners.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Ensuring that all staff (Examiners, Clerical Markers and Invigilators) are informed of all areas in the Administrators’ Manual and any other communication from IELTS Test Partners
- Recruiting, training and managing Examiners, Clerical Markers and Invigilators, on an on-going basis
- Dealing with candidate inquires and with any candidate complaints
- Registering candidates and processing candidate applications
- Pre-test planning and test day administration
- Monthly reporting to IELTS International and on request
- Security, ordering and return of test materials
- Keeping accurate records of all IELTS material and IELTS staff performance
- Marketing IELTS locally as outlined and approved by the ELS Director of IELTS Testing
Job Requirements
- Very good working knowledge of written and spoken English and ability to communicate clearly in both written and spoken form
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to constantly achieve high levels of customer service
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. Previous experience of the management and storage of secure materials desirable
- Able to work effectively under own initiative and at times under pressure
- Ability to respond promptly to procedure and policy information received and to ensure its effective communication at a local level
- Familiarity with US higher education system and previous test administration work is desirable
- The IELTS Administrator should either be a native English Speaker or (if a non-native English speaker) possess a good working knowledge of written and spoken English
- A sound knowledge of secure testing procedures and familiarity with general academic and training standards in the US are a plus
- Satisfactory criminal-history background check
Education Requirements
The IELTS Administrator should have a High School Education at minimum.
Personal Characteristics
The IELTS Administrator must have the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment. The IELTS Administrator must also have good inter-personal communication skills, organizational skills, and ethics, as well as the ability to work efficiently and handle a wide variety of job duties.
