TOPIC: EVHS Yearbook

Yearbook heads-up!The cost of the yearbook is now $50.00, and will remain at this price until March 16th. Our staff is busy taking pictures and getting quotesof all the most memorable moments of the year and chances are...you're it!Don't forget to go to Balfour.com to order your yearbook and fun accessories, or bring a check to Mrs. Fabean made out to East View. TOPIC: Winter Guard

Do you like to dance? Do you want to learn a new skill like spinning a flag, a rifle or saber? You are in luck! The East View Color Guard will be holding Winter Guard auditions November 14th through the 16th in the East View Band Hall from 4:30 to 6:30pm each day. Spots for the Winter Guard are open to any East View student and no prior experience is needed. If you love to perform and want to be a part of a new, exciting organization, join us!

TOPIC: PTA Reflections

There are still 2 weeks left until the deadline for the Reflections entries. This is your chance to shine! Go by the Diamond and pick up the guidelines and entry forms or go to TxPta.org/Programs/Reflections. This creative arts event is open to all students and is free to enter. The categories are literature, photography, visual arts, dance choreography, musical composition, and videofilm production. The theme is "The Magic of a Moment!" The deadline is Monday, November 26.

TOPIC: College & Career Readiness

Today, November 14, a representative from ConcordiaUniversity will be available on campus during lunches to answer any questions about going to Concordia. Students are encouraged to visit with the representative about opportunities at Concordia.

TOPIC: HOSA Bake Sale

Mark your calendars for the bake sale fundraiser sponsored by HOSAscheduled for this Thursday Nov. 15that 3:45 in front of the Cafeteria.

Bring your money and appetite to sample some home baked goods!

TOPIC: Firefighter & EMS Career Fair

Have you ever thought abouta career of saving lives as a Paramedic or Fireman? There will be a Fire/EMS career day held in the cafeteria this coming Friday during lunches. Georgetown Firemen and WilliamsonCounty paramedics will be available for you to talk to and an ambulance and fire truck will also be here for you to check.

TOPIC: Lady Patriot Basketball

The Lady Patriot basketball team won their 2nd game of the young season last night over last year's state 1A semi finalist Snook HS in a thrilling 59-56 finish. Linen Young hit a runner in the lane with 15 seconds left to seal the win.
Playing well for the Lady Patriots were Young, Shaun Cavanaugh, Rachel Williams, Abby Holland, Callie Novak, Angelica Barrera, Emily Webb, and Bailee Broddrick.

TOPIC: Biggest Turkey Competition

Students! This is the last week for you to purchase feathers to show your teachers appreciation for all their hard work. They only cost 25 cents--that's 4 for a dollar! Come by the fronttable during lunch and get your feathers!

TOPIC: East View Freshman Tennis

Yesterday the Freshman Tennis team competed in their first tournament of the school year at the Westwood invitational. 8teams competed including Westwood, Dripping Springs, Vista Ridge, Georgetown, Cedar Ridge, Westlake, and BeltonHigh School. It was a brisk day of weather but your East View Patriots competed hard and placed as follows.

A Boys Doubles: Quincy Sorenson/Preston Brown - Semi-finalists beating Belton 6-4 6-2 before losing to Westwood

B Boys Singles: Austin Lambert (Quarterfinalist)

A Girls Singles: Kelsey Krupicka -Finalist beating the 2 seed from Westwood 6-2 6-4, before losing a tight final against the 1 seed from Westwood

B Girls Singles: Danielle Halter-Finalist winning 2nd place 4-6, 4-6 losing another tight final to Westlake

Sarah Bustillos-Consolation Final winner 10-2

A Girls Doubles: Megan Gross/Courtney Hewlett- 1st place winners! Won the final 7-5 6-1 over Westwood

B Girls Doubles: Brenna Barnes/Liz Knightstep - 1st place winners, winning the match of the tournament in the final over Westlake 5-7 6-1 (13-11)

TOPIC: EVHS Softball

Our MANDATORY Parent & Student Athlete meeting will be on Tuesday, December 4th at6:30PM in the East View High School Lecture Hall. In order to participate in the upcoming 2013 season, you must attend this meeting or have made prior arrangements with Coach Roberts. There will also be a short Softball Booster Club Meeting to follow.

Also - The East View Softball Booster Club is hosting our 2nd Annual Craft Bazaar on Saturday, December 8th in the EastViewHigh School cafeteria. We currently have over 50 vendors, and are looking for more individuals wanting to join in our event. Last year we had over 1,000 people attend this event! We hope to have even more this December. If any choir, band, or orchestra student is interested in showing off their skills during a 15 -30 segment, please contact Coach Roberts.
