Melbourne Visitor Centre Lightbox Posters Display

Business and Tourism Melbourne Display and Promotional Opportunities

Business and Tourism Melbourne display opportunities are an effective way of showcasing an event, festival, attraction or business. They provide a vibrant and strong visual presence in the centre of the city and allow an event/organisation/business to establish its marketing campaign on a large and impressive scale.

Display opportunities include brochure display, super banners, light-box posters, exterior wraps and billboards, floor displays in the Melbourne Visitor Centre, display units and multimedia opportunities.

These opportunities are available as an additional resource for visitors, and displays must have relevance to the core function of Business and Tourism Melbourne – providing information for visitors to Melbourne. They are not intended to be used as advertising for products, services or individuals that do not have a relevance to Business and Tourism Melbourne’s core business.

Light Box Posters at the Melbourne Visitor Centre

The Melbourne Visitor Centre at Federation Square is the tourist gateway for both Melbourne and regional Victoria. It attracts thousands of tourists and local Melburnians each week, searching for travel information and provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ of quality services. Open seven days a week (9 am until 6pm) the Melbourne Visitor Centre receives almost one million visitors a year – all potentially searching for information about your business or destination.

The Melbourne Visitor Centre’s light-box posters and backlits are an attention-grabbing component of Business and Tourism Melbourne’s unique promotional offering.

Three light-box posters are strategically positioned near the stairwell within the Melbourne Visitor Centre and present a fantastic opportunity to hire display space within the hub of Melbourne’s Visitor Centre.

General Design Guidelines

To help make designs more effective, Business and Tourism Melbourne has developed the following general design requirements for all its display opportunities:

  • the title of the event/attraction name should be included and appear in the centre of the design in a clear manner. However, to enable the artwork to be re-used at a later date, it is recommended that the venue name and other event/venue information such as dates that may change from year to year is omitted
  • text should be used where it forms part of the established image of the event and logo
  • montages, slogans and extended text should be avoided.

Specific Design Guidelines for the Melbourne Visitor Centre Light box Posters

Business and Tourism Melbourne has identified the following design requirements for displays using the light-box posters in the Melbourne Visitor Centre:

  • One bold, striking image or graphic design element should be used and overall graphics should be kept simple.
  • Font size should be large enough to ensure legibility from a distance.
  • Each light-box poster can have a maximum of ten per cent of the total banner allocated for direct sponsorship recognition, such as a company’s logo or naming rights. The logos must be placed at the bottom of the poster.
  • Poster material should be duratran / backlit film.
