CLASS FORMAT
Videoconferencing, 40mins each, 20mins AUS and 20mins JPN. The Videoconferencing (VC) sessions are held for 40mins. The class time is split into two; The AUS side takes care of the first 20mins, and the JPN side takes care of the other 20mins.
Power Point slides. Power Point slides must have pictures/visual images, and keywords/phrases/sentences, which can enhance communication between Australian and Japanese students. PPt slides must be sent to the partner school teacher at least the day before the VC class.
Interactivity. Interactivity is the key to successful VC. Students' exchange of questions, Quiz game, and engaging activities make videoconferencing sessions successful. Long presentations are rather less effective. Activities can be: teaching Australian and Japanese folksongs, demonstrating J-Pop music and dance, Q&A about Japanese animations, Quiz game after landmark presentations.
