90 top juniors tee it up at inaugural MJT International Team Challenge at Niagara Falls

Welland, ON-(September 18, 2015)–Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour presented by Boston Pizza, is set to tee off the inaugural MJT International Team Challenge at Hunters Pointe Golf Club near Niagara Falls in Ontario next week, where 90 top juniors are taking part in six-player teams from Canada and the USA in a daily best four of six aggregate team scoring format on September 26th and 27th.

The field of 30 girls and 60 boys make up teams mainly from across Canada and include elite players from the Golf Association of Ontario’s (GAO) Regional Team Programand the Golf Canada Junior Golf Development Centres. The event will also include an individual 36 holes medal play format for both the boys and girls divisions.

“The MJT is very excited to have such a tremendous field of talented junior golfers for our first International Team Challenge at such a fantastic venue in one of the most beautiful regions in our country,” said Dave Smallwood, MJT National Director of Player Development. “Hunters Pointe will be strong test of golf plus it is a treat for juniors to visit the beautiful Niagara Region and see one of the eight wonders of the world, Niagara Falls. This next weekend will prove to be a spectacular start to what we plan to be a long-standing fall tradition.”
