ThisAwardmaybepresentedannuallytoa deservingHigh Schoolstudent in BritishColumbiatoassist in completingtheir PrivatePilot’s License. Thestudentwill haveshown an interest in Aviation and willhavedemonstratedacommitmentto completePrivatePilottraining.Theapplication fortheAwardistobesupported in writingby aPCTIAaccreditedorregistered FlightTraining school in British Columbia.
AwardCriteria
1)Thescholarship fund is setup to beawarded annually, if theBCACdetermines thatasuitableapplication hasbeensubmitted.
2)Theintent isto help ayoung,seriousstudentwith theirfixed orrotaryPrivatePilotLicenseonly.
3)Studentmustshowsomecommitmentto training andfinishing,such as showinga dedicatedinterestin aviation, acommitmentto completetheprogram,completedground schooland/orcompleted aminimum of10 hoursof flighttraining.
4)Theapplicationmustinclude a letterof recommendation fromaPCTIA accredited orregistered flightschooladvising oncandidate’spotential tocomplete theprogram.
5)TheapplicationmustbesupportedbyaBCACMemberin good standing (either a flightschoolor individualBCACMember). Contact the BCAC Administrator if you don’t know one at
4)Student tobebetween ages 16-19.
5)Studentmustprovide a personal outline and include need/reasoning for financialassistance.
Administration
1)BCACAward Committeewill promoteScholarship,administrate andreviewapplication processandselect winners,if any,on Mr. Anderson’sbehalf.BCACwill useMemberTraining Schoolsto distributetheScholarship information andpromote theScholarship on theBCACWeb Site.
2)AstheAwardmaybeusedprimarilyaftergraduation (butnotnecessarily ifawardedtoagrade11student),theaward willbetimedto meetsummertraining requirementsforthestudent. Recipient oftheAwardwill beannouncedby June15thand winner, ifany, will beasked topresentan updateon theirtraining at theSilverWingsbanquet inOctober.
3)Fundswill comedirectlyfromtheVancouverFoundation toBCAC,whowilldistributethefundstothePCTIAaccreditedorregistered flightschool,whowillensurethat training doesinfacttakeplace.AmemberoftheAndersonfamilywillbeaskedtopresent theAwardifpossibleattheBCACSilverWingsBanquet.

APPLICATIONSARENOW BEINGREQUESTEDFORTHEFOLLOWINGMONETARYAWARD.Applicationsmustbereceived
nolaterthan March31 each year. TheBCACAwards committeewill reviewapplications and, ifawinner is chosen, makerecommendationsforapprovalbythe BCACBoard. Thewinner, ifany,will beannouncedby June15andflyingtraining can commenceshortlyafter that.TheAwardwill be ‘formally noted’at theBCACSilverWingsGala inOctober.
PRIVATEPILOT - FLIGHTTRAINING--$5,000

- Applicationto includeletterofrecommendationfromaPCITAaccreditedorregisteredflightschooladvisingoncandidate’spotentialto completetheprogram.
- StudentwillberecommendedbyaBCACMember(eithertheflightschoolorindividual member.)
- Studentmustshowsomecommitmentto trainingand finishing,suchasshowinga dedicatedinterestinaviation,acommitmentto completetheprogram,completedgroundschooland/orcompletedaminimumof10hoursofflighttraining.
- Studenttobebetweenage16-19.
- Studentto provideawrittennarrativeexplainingneed/reasoningforfinancialassistance.
