Welcome!

Congratulations to all the teams that made it here this weekend! It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Avonair Curling Club.

Over its many years, the Avonair Curling Club has hosted many prestigious events and we are very much so looking forward to adding this event to that list.

It is our pleasure to have you all here for the Travelers Championships. If at any time during the weekend you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask any of our staff, as we will do our best to fulfill your request.

The Travelers Provincial Club Championship Rules

UNSUPERVISED PLAY – THE CURRENT 2014-2018 RULE BOOK FOR GENERAL PLAY WILL BE USED. THERE WILL BE AN UMPIRE FOR THIS EVENT. TEAMS ARE EXPECTED TO HANDLE ALL PROBLEMS THEMSELVES AND ONLY IF A DECISION CANNOT BE MADE BY THE TEAMS WILL THE UMPIRE BE CALLED.

1. All games are 8 ends. Full extra ends until winner is determined

2. Play conducted as per the rules stated in the CCA Rule Book

3. Any disputes should be referred to the Umpire on site

4. Coin toss shall take place at least 30 minutes prior to game time. The team winning the toss will have choice of rocks or hammer. The team with hammer shall practice first for 10 minutes immediately followed by their opponent. This practice shall consist of 2 rocks up and 2 rocks back for each player with a time limit of 10 minutes.

5. Spares may be used with a maximum of two per team per game and these spares must play front end. Teams may also play with only three players throwing 3 3 2. A spare may be a player from your home club or may be provided by the Host Committee.

6. Games will not be timed, however, it is expected that 8 ends be completed in 2 hours.

7. We would request that scores whether blank end or not, be posted promptly on completion of the end for the benefit of the viewing audience, media, website updating and committee people keeping lines scores.
