CREDO

Who am I? Who is God calling me to be?

Maybe you thought you answered these questions long ago. Perhaps it is time to address them once again. Taking the time to intentionally focus and reflect on what makes you authentically “you” is a matter of wellness. As a clergy member of the Episcopal Church your time is often not your own. Your personal wellness may have taken a back seat to the cares and concerns of those you serve in ministry. Yet, your personal health and well-being are vital, not only to yourself but also to the health of your family and your faith community.

A Special Invitation:

The Church Pension Fund has designed a special CREDO conference for clergy friends and members of the Union of Black Episcopalians who are African American or members of the African diaspora. At this conference, you will experience a space and time devoted to intentional reflection, evaluation, and reassessment of your total wellness—physical, psychological, spiritual, vocational, and financial.

The CREDO conference experience will engage you in a renewed sense of identity, a reenergized commitment to holistic health, and a refreshed and recharged sense of ministry. At CREDO, you will find a rejuvenating, supportive Christian community that will nurture your personal well-being and remind you that the wisdom and grace of God is nearer than the very breath you take.

When: September 19 - 25, 2017

Where: Beckwith Episcopal Conference Center

A tranquil retreat center on beautiful Weeks Bay in Fairhope, Alabama

Who can attend?

Eligible Clergy Pension Plan participants in good standing, both active and retired (receiving a pension), can attend so long as you have not previously attended a CREDO conference in the last five years. If you have never attended a CREDO conference and have been ordained three or more years, this would be the perfect time for you to attend this refreshed and revamped CREDO focused on your issues and concerns.

What does it involve?

You will arrive at the Beckwith Episcopal Conference Center on Tuesday, September 19th, and begin a seven day journey of learning, sharing, reflection, worship, exploration, laughter, and rejuvenation.

Large-group plenaries, component workshops, small-group interactions, one-on-one discussions, daily worship, prayer, and free time for exercise and relaxation round out seven days focused on holistic health.

The culmination of the CREDO conference is a CREDO Rule of Life —a personal covenant that you create from the knowledge attained and aspirations uncovered during your CREDO experience. Your CREDO Rule of Life will capture your formal and actionable commitment to ensuring your personal wellness. You will leave CREDO feeling refreshed and reinvigorated, with a clearer vision of your total well-being.

What does it cost?

The cost to attend is $500, which covers your airfare, lodging, meals, and other direct conference expenses. If this fee creates a hardship, scholarships are available. Please contact a member of our Education & Wellness team at (888)-274-2828 .
