2018 Skills Highway promotion and awarenesspayment

The Skills Highway programme pays afee to organisations that supportworkplace literacy and numeracy promotional and awareness-raising activities.

This fee is paid forpromotional, awareness-raising and development activities that lead to significantly increased employer support for workplace literacy and numeracy. Priority will be given to applications where the activities result in the employer accessing the Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Fund (either TEO or Employer-led).

Eligibility

A range of organisations are eligible to receive the promotion and awareness payment. These may include industry training organisations, industry or employer associations, unions, and educational or workplace consultants.

Providers, contractors and employers who directly access WLN funding for provision in respect of that workplace’s application are not eligible to receive the promotion and awareness fee.

Payment

The feeis $2,000 (ex. GST) and will be paid on approval of the application by the E-WLN fund Assessment Panel.

Funding available

Please note that this is a capped fund. For 2018, there is $20,000 available for promotion and awareness payments.

Please provide a brief description of the activities your organisation has been undertaking in this area. Examples may include:

  • Working with companies to help them understand the LN profile of their workforce
  • Engaging with industry or employer associations to raise awareness of the importance of workplace LN
  • Connecting employers to LN provision and supporting that provision.
  • Connecting employers to other training interventions that support LN, e.g.
  • a health and safety initiative
  • an in-house mentoring programme
  • a financial literacy programme
  • Stimulating employers to undertake non-training interventions that support LN such as:
  • reorganising work flows
  • enriching jobs through increased task variety
  • reorganising staff social spaces to encourage verbal interaction where ESOL is a challenge.
