This section relates to the supply and fixing of Stryumprofiled horizontal and vertical aluminium cladding complete with accessories. For use on new and existing residential and commercial projects.

It includes:

-for fixing on to timber or steel framing over a drained and ventilated cavity

-associated extruded flashing sections and components

ACCREDITATION AND CERTIFICATION

1.2AS1530.1 – 1994 Combustibility test for building materials

Stryum panels have been tested and are deemed 100% non-combustible in accordancewith AS1530.1 – 1994

AS 4040.3-1992 Methods of testing sheet roof and wall cladding - Resistance to wind pressures for cyclone regions

AS 1562.1 - 1992 Design and installation of sheet roof and wall cladding – Metal

Stryum’sserviceability and strength limit state wind load testing was conducted in accordance AS 4040.3 Resistance to Wind Pressures for Cyclone Regions

AS 1170.2 – 2011 Large Body Debris Impact Test

Stryum panels have been tested and passed the Large Body Debris Impact test. Tested to AS/NZS 1170.2-2011

2.PRODUCTS

Materials

2.1STRYUMSHADOW(300mm cover)

Stryum Shadow profiled metal cladding, manufactured from extruded 6060 T5 aluminium alloy, interlocking profile, 329mm x 15.72mm x 3.5mm thick with a 300mm cover, supplied in 6.5 lengths as a standard. Profiles are supplied prefinished.

2.2STRYUM SHADOW (198mm cover)

Stryum Shadow profiled metal cladding, manufactured from extruded 6060 T5 aluminium alloy, interlocking profile, 222mm x 15.27mm x 2.5mm thick with a 198mm cover, supplied in 6.5 lengths as a standard. Profiles are supplied prefinished.

2.3STRYUM SHADOW (160mm cover)

Stryum Shadow profiled metal cladding, manufactured from extruded 6060 T5 aluminium alloy, interlocking profile, 183.11mm x 15.2mm x 1.8mm thick with a 160mm cover, supplied in 6.5 lengths as a standard. Profiles are supplied prefinished.

2.4STRYUM STEP

StryumStep profiled metal cladding, manufactured from extruded 6060 T5 aluminium alloy, interlocking profile, 290mm x 18.35mm x 2.8mm thick with a 263.6mm cover, supplied in 6.5 lengths as a standard. Profiles are supplied prefinished

STRYUM SEAM

Stryum Seam profiled metal cladding, manufactured from extruded 6060 T5 aluminium alloy, interlocking profile, 290mm x 37.7mm x 2.8mm thick with a 265mm cover, supplied in 6.5 lengths as a standard. Profiles are supplied prefinished

2.5STRYUMPROPRIETARY TRIMS

StryumFlashing System, extruded aluminium starter trim, internal and external corners, foot mould, male/female stop end and angle extrusions manufactured from 6060 T5 aluminium alloy. The flashing sections are supplied to site cut to length and are prefinished to match the Stryum profiled metal cladding.

Stryum starter, pre finished extruded 6060 T5 aluminium 68.2mm x 7.2mm x 2.5mm thick available in 6.5 metre lengths.

2.7STRYUM INTERNAL CORNER

Stryum internal corner, pre finished extruded 6060 T5 aluminium 68.2mm x 7.2mm x 2.5mm thick available in 6.5 metre lengths.

2.8STRYUM EXTERNAL CORNER (X shaped extrusion)

Stryumexternal corner, pre finished extruded 6060 T5 aluminium 68.2mm x 7.2mm x 2.5mm thick available in 6.5 metre lengths.

2.9STRYUM SEAM EXTERNAL CORNER

StryumSeam external corner, pre finished extruded 6060 T5 aluminium 68.2mm x 7.2mm x 2.5mm thick available in 6.5 metre lengths.

2.10STRYUM FOOT MOULD

Stryumfoot mould, pre finished extruded 6060 T5 aluminium 68.2mm x 7.2mm x 2.5mm thick available in 6.5 metre lengths.

2.11STRYUM STOP END (2 pieces)

Stryumstop end, pre finished extruded 6060 T5 aluminium 68.2mm x 7.2mm x 2.5mm thick available in 6.5 metre lengths.

2.12STRYUM ALUMINIUM BACKING PLATE (Inter-Storey Junction)

Purpose made folded and pre paintedflashing.

Self-drilling, 12 Gauge Class 4 hex head galvanised steel screws

2.14SISALATION WALL WRAP

Fletcher Insulation Sisalation® WallwrapExHD (or equivalent)

Sisalation wall wrap should be installed in accordance with AS/NZS 4200.2:1994

2.15TOP HAT

Rondo M525: 20 x 25 x 50 x 25 x 20 x 0.75 BMT (or equivalent)

3.EXECUTION

Conditions - general

3.1DELIVERY

Keep claddings and flashings dry in transit. Take delivery of cladding in an undamaged condition. Reject all damaged materials.

3.2STORAGE

Store Stryum cladding and accessories on a level, firm base, off the ground, in dry conditions, well ventilated, out of direct sunlight and completely protected from weather and damage. Ensure storage areas are away from current work areas. Cover to keep dry until fixed. Take care to avoid damage to pre finished surfaces.

3.3HANDLING

Avoid distortion and contact with potentially damaging surfaces/substances. Do not drag claddings and flashings across each other, or across other surfaces. Protect edges, corners and surfaces from damage.

3.4SUBSTRATE

Do not commence work until the substrate is of the standard required by the Stryum approved installer for the specified claddings and flashings, level and in true alignment.

3.5PROTECT

Protect surfaces, window and door joinery, and finishes already in place, from the possibility of damage during the installation process.

3.6CONFIRM LAYOUT

Before commencing work confirm the proposed installation of the cladding, flashings and expansion joints and other visual considerations of the finished work.

3.7CO-ORDINATE INSTALLATION

Co-ordinate installation of cladding and flashings with associated trades.

Completion

3.8ROUTINE CLEANING

Carry out routine trade cleaning of this part of the work including periodic removal of all debris, unused and temporary materials and elements from the site.

3.9DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED WORK

Repair damaged or marked elements. Replace damaged or marked elements where repair is not possible or will not be acceptable. Leave work to the standard required for following procedures.

3.10PROTECTION

Provide the following temporary protection of the finished work:

3.11LEAVE

Leave this work complete with all necessary flashings and capping all properly installed as the work proceeds so the finished cladding is completely weathertight.
