A Place of Welcome

The HospitalityCenter is a program of Catholic Charities that provides a hearty meal seven days a week, 365 days a year to those without adequate means to feed themselves. The daily meal is served in a peaceful atmosphere where guests are treated with respect and dignity.

There is no cost or fee for receiving a meal at the HospitalityCenter.

Volunteering

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the HospitalityCenter. They are the key to keeping the Center open. Volunteers are needed to facilitate every aspect of the HospitalityCenter, such as:

  • Cooking
  • Serving meals
  • Welcoming guests
  • Driving to pickup food donations
  • Cleaning
  • Maintenance and repairs

Needed Support

The majority of funding for the HospitalityCenter comes from individuals, foundations and agency fundraisers. The HospitalityCenter also relies heavily on in-kind donations of goods and services from local businesses and citizens. The Center needs this community support to serve more than 40,000 meals a year and fulfill its mission of minimizing the impact of hunger upon the poor.

Hunger effects:

  • how people perform at work
  • how children perform at

school

  • how people view their communities and their lives

To help it combat these effects, the Center is always open to receiving donations of the following items:

  • Meat
  • Canned goods
  • Produce
  • Silver ware
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Cash

It takes more than food tofight hunger. It takes each one of ussharing our strength.

More Than a Meal

All persons have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. This belief is at the core of the HospitalityCenter’s service, and daily we strive to treatour guests with the utmost respect and dignity.Catholic Charities knows that the food that feeds the body is not as enduring as the warmth that feeds the spirit. The Center’s staff and volunteers exhibit that spiritual support by providing not only a satisfying meal, but a clean, safe and dignified environment that is like a second home for many who are marginalized, such as elderly on fixed incomes, the temporarily needy, the homeless, veterans, the disabled and the working poor.
