Costs listed include double occupancy accommodations and meals aboard river vessel; field trips, crew and other tips, transfers, airport taxes and certain other meals. This fee is for the Amazon trip only and does not include UHCL tuition and fees for optional course or independent study registration. Participants must complete an information survey and may be required to pass a physical exam. Each participant must acquire the appropriate immunizations and provide a valid passport and Brazil visa. Additional costs may be required for passport, passport photos, visa applications, immunizations, beverages aboard the boat and personal souvenirs.

Each Amazon River trip is open on a space-available basis for up to 20 participants. Early registration for the trip is advised and a waiting list will be maintained. Pre-trip meetings will be held at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (dates to be announced).
