About Hadley Care:
HADLEY CARE COMPANY INFORMATION

The Company:

Hadley Care Limited is a growing domiciliary company, whose philosophy is to meet the growing cultural trend away from residential and nursing care, towards smaller intimate units. At present, Hadley Care provides 24 hour care and support for elderly clients who live within spacious 6-8 bedroomed, supported living bungalows (known as Lodges). Its care employees are people who enjoy creating a quality home environment for their clients, by assisting them with personal care e.g washing, dressing, showering and daily living tasks, cooking traditional meals, and providing general housekeeping, domestic and laundry duties.

Our Care Workers:

Commitment, reliability, honesty, a sense of humour, cooking skills, experience in the care sector and a good team worker are the qualities we are looking for, together with NVQ2 in Health Care or equivalent qualification or a willingness to study QCF (quality credit framework) units relevant to the job role. For the first 0-6 months in post, a care worker will attend on the job training and a class-room based induction supported by a workbook and covering all the elements required to be an effective and professional Care Worker. After approximately 12 months the Care Worker will be asked to study QCF units if they have not already achieved this qualification or equivalent.

Full-time and Part-time Posts:

We have part-time and full-time posts. Shifts are over a 24 hour period, 7 days a week, and are usually 09.00 – 14.30, 14.30 – 21.00, and a 21.00 – 09.00 sleepover (providing evening/morning care and sleeping on a z-bed with 2 nightly checks). A full time post (over 30 hours) and a part time post (less than 30hours) requires a commitment to two shifts alternate weekends and a flexibility to cover morning, afternoon, evening and sleep over shifts when required. Our rosters are usually settled into a regular pattern unless a Care worker is on leave or on sick leave, in which case we ask the other team members to work extra shifts to cover.

Registration and Inspection:

Hadley Care was registered in Autumn 2008 with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI), now called Care Quality Commission (CQC) which is the regulating body for health and care providers. They regularly inspect and review all social care and health services in the public, private and voluntary sectors in England to check they are meeting people’s needs.

In May 2008 CSCI visited Hadley Care for the first time in order to inspect the quality of its service to our clients and to our employees. Hadley Care received a quality rating of two star good service which is the highest rating a domiciliary care provider can achieve on a first inspection. In July 2013 we had our third inspection and were found to be in compliance with all the essential standards required of us (CQC do not give ratings anymore).
