FC Report – From Division

Note:In the future the FC’s will be receiving award certificates for their members inemailformat.
DCDR Glenn Mason:
1. Next meeting will be on July 12, 2017 USCG Station Sandy Hook.
2. The uniform worn at StaSH will be the ODU with black boots; unless specifically changed by the CO.
3. Policy under development for “Go to Training” Web based training and meetings.
4. The first Division event held on June 10that Leonardo Marina (VE’s, “if found stickers,” Kids Don’t Float Display, etc.)Very successful with thanks to all auxiliary and StaSH personal who participated.See on line DCDR report of June 11th.
5. Glenn and Vince plan to visit all flotillas for a “Town Hall Meeting” interactive visit.Division goals, mission statement, questions and answers.
6. We are a team with all flotillas and their members working together.Review of the Mission Statement by VCDR.
7. An AuxFS (Chef) class is being scheduled at StaSH. FC’s are urged to promote and then encourage interested members to attend.
8. Remember only the USCG Commandant can make policy.
VCDR Vince Labbate Staff Officer Roll Call and Reports:
·SO-OP. Verbal Report.A problem this year getting “matching” facilities for training and check-rides. Requested that FC’s send reports on the activity and status of coxswains, crew, and trainees in their flotillas; new equipment issue and retention of present issued equipment depends on active participation; member PPE equipment listing, look at Appendix C format; PLB information.PLB’s are to be tested monthly with recorded results of testing. Registration password for each PLB unit should be as required in protocol in order to easily reassign equipment when needed.
Old Business:
ØIncident Management Plan:Ben Schneider and Larry Story are in the final stages of development/review of the plan.Many new FEMA changes have to be considered.
ØAwards committee to be formed.
New Business:
ØVCDR requested assistance for the July 8th“Heroes on the Water” Wounded Warrior Program at StaSH, 0700-1600. Sponsored by 02-02 for Veterans.Help is needed not only for the event but also for cleanup days.FC Larry Story is meeting with the StaSH CO and will be sending out finalized information on this.
ØAttention to hurricane season.Larry Story will send appropriate info out to FC’s.

1. Shore Paddle for Clean Ocean Action:Saturday, Shrewsbury Sailing & Yacht Club, Oceanport, NJ, June 17thfrom 0800 to 1400.
2. Beach Cleanup:Saturday, June 24th(Rain date, Sunday, June 25th) and Friday, July 7that StaSH.
3. Heroes on the Water:Saturday, StaSH, July 8thfrom 0600 to approximately 1700
4. Next Division Meeting:Wednesday, July 12, 2000 hours, USCG Station Sandy Hook.Uniform will be ODU, black boots. “Flares and Pump” Program may be scheduled at that time.
5. USCG Auxiliary Citifield Event:Friday, September 8thMets versus Reds.
VFC – No report
FSO-FN– submitted electronically, motion to approve made and passed
FSO-SR– Submitted electronically, motion to approve made and passed
FSO-PE– 348 students addressed in the Water and Kids program.5 schools were covered.
FSO-PV– 4 visits made so far this month
FSO-VE– 17 done so far.Posters will be made and displayed at Patten Point Yacht club for the weekend of June 24 and 25.2 MAST students will be there.
FSO-MT– nothing new to report.On water crew training on Wednesday nights starting 12 July.
FSO-OP– submitted electronically. No wake buoys have not been put in on the Shrewsbury River.There are only 4 people in NJ Marine Police to put them out.They will go in sometime in the future.
FSO-HR– Ben has been working with a person and is getting ready to submit the paperwork.
New Business
The front of the Cultural Center has been done, but they need bids on the next 2 phases.They hope to be in by November.
There is no meeting in August, so a meeting/social event could be planned instead.
