RULES AND REGULATIONS

ELIGIBILITY

  • The NT Championships are open to all current 2017 Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited registered players.
  • Bowlers wishing to compete in the NT Championships will be required to provide proof of current TBA registration
  • Junior bowlers are not permitted to compete in the Adult Division (this will be at the discretion of the tournament committee. A junior bowler will not be permitted to claim an adult prize)

NOTE: In the event that there is only one qualifier in a particular Division (including a Masters Division), that bowler will not be able to bowl or be declared the winner. All Divisions must have at least two competitors for that final to go ahead.

THREE GAME SERIES

  • In each grade, each entrant in the Trios, Doubles and Singles events will bowl three (3) games.
  • Bowlers may enter any one event or all events.
  • The highest three, (3) game series will win in each case.
  • In the event of a tie in any of the events, the tie will stand and all bowlers involved will be awarded prize money divided equally.

There must be a minimum of two (2) bowlers per pair of lanes. Qualifying in any event is not permitted alone and must be done with another TBA registered player. No pacers are allowed.

RULES

  • All TBA rules and regulations will apply.

ENTRIES

  • All entry fees (including lineage) must accompany each entry.
  • No teams or individuals will be entitled to a refund after the entry has been received and recorded.

ENTRY FEES

The entry fee per adult bowler for each event is $35.00 comprising:

All Events fee for all Junior bowlers is $5.00.

Masters nomination will cost $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for juniors and this money will go directly towards prize funds for each Masters division nominated.

NOTE:Persons wishing to participate in the selection for the RACHUIG, SENIORS, RESTRICTED, YOUTH or PRESIDENT SHIELD Representative Teams, or HOLT CHALLENGE TEAMS are required to enter the ALL EVENTS of EITHER the STATE or LOCAL CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS in the year of that event and must attempt to qualify in the applicable Masters event ie bowlers wishing to be selected for the Rachuig or Seniors team would be expected to attempt to qualify for Open Masters and Seniors or Open Masters respectively

AVERAGES

  • Cut off date for entering averages is 31 March2017established over a minimum of 24 games
  • Entrants must use their highest average up to 31 March 2017. If a bowler does not have an average established over a minimum of 24 games by the end of March 2017, the highest league average as at 31 December 2016 will be used
  • If no current average has been established for 2017, the bowler must make application for a grading to the Tournament Director in writing, stating:

Number of games bowled

  • If an entrant fails to make application to the Tournament Director for an average, then the average will be set at 185 for men, 175 for women, 170 for boys and 160 for girls.
  • The Tournament Director has the right to reclassify any bowler's average as per TBA Rules.

ALL EVENTS

PLEASE NOTE: BOWLERS WHO WISH TO BOWL IN THE JUNIOR, SENIOR, RESTRICTED, CLASSIC or ADULT OPEN MASTERS EVENTS MUST HAVE COMPLETED AN ALL EVENTS ENTRY.

  • Application for All Events must be made on the entry form and show the applicant's grade
  • Entry fee must be paid before commencing bowling in the FIRST event for that bowler. Only one paid entry fee will be accepted from each entrant.
  • A bowler's best appearance intrios,doubles and singles will count towards their All Events score, regardless of the grade in which they bowled. Mixed eventsi.e. Mixed Doubles and Mixed Trios do count towards All Events.
  • An All Events Champion will be declared for every grade.
  • Entrants who bowl in trios, doubles and singles and who DO NOT pay the All Events entry fee will be listed in the official results but will not be eligible for any All Events prizes.
  • No bowler shall receive more than one All Events prize, or be listed in more than one All Events final standing.

PRIZES

  • Prize funds will be returned 100% on the basis of one prize for every eight (8) entries received.
  • An individual bowler may fill more than one placing within any one grade in which they are eligible to bowl.

SINGLES

  • Bowlers will be allowed unlimited entries in their own grade and unlimited entries in a higher grade. Bowlers who are only eligible for Open will be allowed unlimited entries in the Open Division.

DOUBLES / MIXED DOUBLES

  • The same two bowlers may enter unlimited times in their own grade and unlimited times in a higher grade. Bowlers may team up with another partner and bowl again in a graded division as above. Bowlers who are only eligible for Open may bowl unlimited times in the Open Division with the same partner or another partner.

TRIOS / MIXED TRIOS (3 person)

  • In the trio’s event, the same three (3) bowlers may bowl as a team unlimitedtimes in their graded division and unlimited times in a higher grade.
  • The same three (3) bowlers who are only eligible forthe Open grade teams may bowl unlimited times in the Open Division.

PLAYING TIMES

  • From Saturday15 April 2017 to last squad Saturday 29 April2017, subject to the availability of lanes from Centre Management without disruption of day/night league play and/or tournaments in progress and subject to approval of the Tournament Director.
  • Bowlers who are eligible and wish to qualify for Junior Masters (Open/Restricted) or Adult Restricted must complete their all events prior by close of the centre on Friday28 April
  • Bowlers who are eligible and wish to qualify for Classic Masters, Senior Masters and/or Open Masters must complete their all events by close of the centre on Saturday 29 April, subject to the availability of lanes.
  • Telescores and foul lights will be used at all times.
  • Bowlers will not be permitted to score their own games.
  • Pacers are not permitted.
  • Visiting bowlers will be given priority to lane allocation from 12.00pm onThursday 27 April 2017.

PROTESTS

  • All protests must be notified to the Tournament Director or his/her assistant or representative IMMEDIATELY the infringement occurs. A provisional ball will be bowled where necessary, pending the Tournament Director's decision and this decision will be final.

TIES

  • In the event of a tie for 1st place in singles, doubles or trios, the prize money will be evenly divided between those involved in the tie and no other prizes will be awarded for 2nd, 3rd etc.
  • In the event that there is a tie for minor places, the prize money will be divided evenly between the place getters unless there are enough entries for a place below that in which case the prize money will be added together and divided evenly between the tie and no other prize below will be awarded.
  • If a tie exists for the final place in the finals of any Masters event after qualifying has been completed, the tie will be resolved with a one game roll off between the bowlers involved in the tie. If a tie still exists after a one game roll off, a tenth frame play off will be bowled. If a tie still exists at the end of the tenth frame playoff, the tenth frame playoff will continue until the tie is resolved.

  • Collared shirt or bowling industry manufactured shirt, **tailored dress shorts or long **tailored pants (excludes denim, track pants, board shorts, athletic shorts or rugger type shorts, bike shorts)

Female

  • Collared shirt or bowling industry manufactured shirt, **tailored shorts or **tailored skort or **tailored skirt or ¾ length pants or **long tailored pants (excludes denim, track pants, board shorts, athletic shorts or rugger type shorts, bike shorts)

MASTERS EVENTS

All bowlers must wear a collared shirt or bowling industry manufactured shirt.

Male

  • Collared shirt or bowling industry manufactured shirt and **tailored dress shorts or long **tailored pants

Female

  • Collared shirt or bowling industry manufactured shirt and **tailored shorts or **tailored skort or **tailored skirt or long **tailored pants

** TAILORED IS DEFINED AS HAVING BELT LOOPS AND TWO FRONT POCKETS (NOT DENIM)

Hats will not be permitted to be worn during qualifying events or Masters’ events

ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Bowlers will not be permitted to use headphones for the purposes of listening to music and will not be permitted to use mobile phones to make or receive calls or texts, or use of social media, during qualifying events, Geppy Memorial Trios challenge or Masters finals.

Players will be permitted to use electronic devices for the purposes of Pinpal or other personal scoring systems on such a device, as long as they do not cause a delay in play.

JUNIOR OPEN MASTERS EVENT

RULES AND REGULATIONS

PLEASE NOTE: Bowlers who wish to bowl in the open event must have completed an all events entry and paid the prescribed nomination fee.

This tournament is open to all current 2017 junior members of Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited (TBA) who have averages, and who are under 18 years of age as at 1st January 2017.

PLEASE NOTE: In the event that there is only one qualifier in a particular Division, that bowler will not be able to bowl or be declared the winner. All Divisions must have at least two competitors for that final to go ahead.

QUALIFYING

Qualifying scores will consist of each bowler's All Events score. No other qualifying will be permitted. Nomination will cost $5.00 payable at time of All Events entry; this fee is added to prize fund.

** Juniors who are eligible and wish to bowl in both the Open Junior Masters and the Restricted Junior Masters must pay a nomination fee for both Masters events.

The finalists will consist of the 2016 NT Junior Open Masters Champion (boys and girls) (if eligible), the 2016 Alice Springs Junior Open Masters Champion (boys and girls) (if eligible), and the 2016 Darwin Junior Open Masters Champion (boys and girls) (if eligible), then finalists to make up a field of twelve (12) boys and twelve (12) girls based on the highest All Events score.

ALL FINALISTS WILL PAY $70.00

Consisting of $52.80 lineage and $17.20 Prize fund.

** Bowlers who are eligible for the Junior Restricted Masters and Open Masters and qualify in both are permitted to bowl both and will need to pay a fee of $85.00 in total

The final of the Junior Open Masters event will be held on Saturday 29April2017 at 9.15am. Check-in will close at 9.00am. Boys and Girls will bowl at the same time.

The dress code as stated for NT ChampionshipsMasters events will apply.

FINALS FORMAT

All finalists will bowl 8 games. At the end of 8 games the male and female bowlers with the highest pinfall will be declared the 2016 NT Junior Open Masters Champions. In the event of a tie for 1st place, there will be a further two (2) games to decide the winner. If the scores are still tied after 2 games, a tenth frame will determine the winner.

No substitutes will be used once the finals have commenced.

PRIZES

FIRST Trophy, plus 2017 NT Junior Open Masters shirt, automatic entry into the 2017 Australian Junior Open Masters (if eligible), automatic entry into the 2018 NT Junior Open Masters event (if eligible) plus 55% of prize fund.

PLEASE NOTE: Bowlers who wish to bowl in the restricted event must have completed an all events entry and paid the prescribed nomination fee.

This tournament is open to all current 2017 junior members of Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited (TBA) who have averages, which allow them to bowl in A Grade or below at these Championships and who are under 18 years of age as at 1st January 2017.

PLEASE NOTE: In the event that there is only one qualifier in a particular Division, that bowler will not be able to bowl or be declared the winner. All Divisions must have at least two competitors for that final to go ahead.

QUALIFYING

Qualifying scores will consist of each bowler's All Events score INCLUDING HANDICAP. No other qualifying will be permitted. Handicap will be 100% of 200. Nomination will cost $5.00 payable at time of All Events entry; this fee is added to prize fund.

The finalists will consist of the 2016 NT Junior Restricted Masters Champion (boys and girls) (if eligible), 2016 Darwin & Alice Springs Junior Restricted Masters Champion, (boys and girls) (if eligible). Then finalists to make up a field of twelve (12) boys and twelve (12) girls based on the highest All Events score (with handicap) in B, C and D Grade (12 total, not 12 in each grade).

ALL FINALISTS WILL PAY $70.00

PLEASE NOTE: Bowlers who wish to bowl in the Adult Masters event must have completed an all events entry and paid the prescribed nomination fee.

ELIGIBILITY

This tournament is open to all current 2017 adult members of Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited (TBA) who have averages, 174 & below for Ladies & 184 & below for Men as at 31 March 2017 established over 24 games, or as stated in the rules for averages (see page 2 of NT Championships Rules 2017).

PLEASE NOTE: In the event that there is only one qualifier in a particular Division, that bowler will not be able to bowl or be declared the winner. All Divisions must have at least two competitors for that final to go ahead.

QUALIFYING

Qualifying scores will consist of each bowler’s All Events score INCLUDING HANDICAP. No other qualifying will be permitted. Handicap will be 100% of 200. Nomination will cost $10.00 payable at time of All Events entry; this fee is added to prize fund.

The finalists will consist of the 2016 NT Restricted Masters Champion (men and ladies) (if eligible), the 2016 Alice Springs Restricted Masters Champion, (men and ladies) (if eligible), and the 2016 Darwin Restricted Masters Champion, (men and ladies) (if eligible), then finalists to make up a field of twelve (12) Men and twelve (12) Ladies based on the highest All Events score (with handicap) in A, B, C and D Grade (12 total, not 12 in each grade).

Consisting of $86.40 lineage, $4.60 Tournament fee and $39.00 Prize fund

TIME

The final of the Restricted Masters will be held on Saturday 29 April at 2.15pm. Check-in will close at 1.45pm. Men and Ladies will bowl at the same time.

The dress code as stated for NT Championships Masters events will apply.
