American Veterans (AMVETS) Post 607 is a veterans organization. Its goal and mission is to support veterans and its community. To support its community, Post 607 will be awarding a scholarship with a value of $250.00. This scholarship will be awarded to:

•The son or daughter of a member of AMVETS Post 607

•The son or daughter of a deceased member of AMVETS Post 607

•A grandchild of a member of AMVETS Post 607

•A grandchild of a deceased member of AMVETS Post 607

•The niece or nephew of a member of AMVETS Post 607 who had been a member in good standing at the time of his/her death.

•If no applicants meet the criteria of one through five, then the recipient would be chosen from the next best application.

Aims and Goals

The aims and goals of this scholarship are to:

•Foster a desire for the recipient to continue his/her desire to learn.

•Assist the recipient in his/her efforts to pursue a degree of higher learning.

•Encourage the applicants to appreciate the spirit of competition as they prepare their applications.

The recipient of this scholarship must attend a four-year college or university of his/her choice. Applicants must be a beginning freshman. Applicants will be judged on academic record, academic and athletic awards, extra-curricular activities while in school, financial needs, and aims and goals of the applicant. A check will be presented to the individual upon proof of acceptance to the college or university.

A copy of this application is available through the 2nd Vice Commander and at AMVETS Post 607.
