Information and Expectations

Materials:math book, pencils, math notebook, planner, and graph paper

Assignments: Doing all the assigned work regularly and correctly is extremely important. Math is sequential. Without practice in the assigned lesson a student may not be able to understand the next lesson. Assigned work will be due the next day. Half credit will be given for late work turned in before the test. Late work due to excused absences receives full credit if turned in before the test. It’s student’s responsibility to obtain the missing assignments and arrange for missing assessments.

Missing Assessments: Student needs to be prepared to take the missing assessment the first day back after the absence(s). Missing assessments due to school activities need to be prearranged.

Full Credit for Assignments: Write the problem and show all the steps to get to the answer. Write your name, date, title, section, page, and exercise numbers. Use pencil. Turn in on time.

Grading Percentages: 90% or above – A60 to 69% – D

80 to 89% – BBelow 60% – F

70 to 79% – C

Grading Breakdown: tests and benchmarks –– 60%

quizzes, class work, notes/notebook, independent work –– 30%

homework – 10%

  • Classroom Rules : Bring required materials to class everyday.
  • Be prepared to work as soon as the bell rings and stay on task till class ends.
  • Speak when appropriate.
  • Seek permission before leaving seat.
  • Materials(examples are cosmetics, pictures, assignments from other classes, electronic devices) not needed for this class need to be put away from the desk.
  • Class passes are for urgent matters only. Planner is required for a pass. No passes for lockers.
  • School’s academic honesty policy will be followed.
  • No food (like, gum, candy) or drinks (except water) allowed in class.

Consequences: Individual conference, detention, parent contact, removal from the room, referral, suspension
