RACE 1 –LIQUOR STAX BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP–1420 METRES

Correct weight was delayed as Stewards viewed the official film of the start in relation to Finalaregee and Aslanyon.

It was established that prior to the starting gatesopening Finalaregee commenced to rear and was held by an attendant which prevented it from securing a fair start. Stewards ordered that Finalaregee be declared a late scratching at 6.07 pm. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on Finalaregee to be refunded in full. All bets made prior to 6.07 pm were to be paid less five cents in the dollar on the face value of the win ticket and six cents in the dollar on the value of the place ticket.

Aslanyon jumped away awkwardly resulting in Victor Wong rider of the gelding making heavy contact with the side of the barrier and becoming severely unbalanced.

Am I There Yet stood flat footed and was slow to begin (4L). Trainer David Brunton was advised that the gelding must complete a satisfactory trial before racing again.

Shortly after the start Tycoon Navigator was taken out by Blood Orange and contacted Follow My Dust.

Near the 1000 metres Geegees Classicboy shifted out abruptly when being restrained and made contact with Speckie which was taken out off its course for a short distance.

Near the 800 metres Tycoon Navigator was restrained when racing tightly to the inside of Speckie which shifted in slightly towards that mare.

Sigrid Carr rider of Geegees Classicboy was reminded of her obligations when riding out with the whip.

RACE 2 – CARLTON DRAUGHT 3YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE- 1420 METRES

Charge Your Glass was declared a late scratching at 10.53 am by order of Stewards.

Turn To Dancing proved difficult to load and held up the start. Connections were advised that the gelding must complete a satisfactory trial before racing again.

Peskicat jumped away awkwardly making heavy contact with Mount Nevis which was hampered and severely unbalanced.

Near the 1200 metres Turn To Dancing got its head up when being restrained off the heels of

Commanding Dash.

Approaching the 1100 metres Holy Binga shifted out and took Peskicat (NZ) out off its course for a short distance.

Kim Moore rider of Minna Lass pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 137(a) careless riding the particulars being that near the 400 metres she permitted her mount to shift out making heavy contact with Brovski which was taken out off its course and became unbalanced. Stewards deemed the interference and carelessness to be of a low to medium level. Mrs Moore’s licence to ride in races was suspended for one (1) Tasmanian race meeting commencing at midnight 16 November 2015 and expiring at midnight on 18 November 2015.

RACE 3 – NEWSTEAD HOTEL 3YO MAIDEN PLATE- 1120 METRES

The start was delayed 3 minutes when Swinging Ali proved very difficult to load. Swinging Ali was declared a late scratching at 7.22 pm when the gelding could not be loaded into the barrier stalls. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on Swinging Ali to be refunded in full. All bets made prior to 7.22 pm were to be paid less two cents in the dollar on the face value of the win ticket and three cents in the dollar on the value of the place ticket. Trainer RCarr was advised that Swinging Ali must complete a satisfactory trial before the gelding will be permitted to race again.

Following a report from the Starter that Into The Night proved difficult to load, connections were advised that a warning has been placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.

Turtles Nest jumped away awkwardly and lost some ground.

Saint’s Quest was slow to begin (1L).

Approaching the 800 metres Millie Mateba got its head up when being restrained off the heels of Liffey Lad.

In the home straight Saint’s Quest displayed a tendency to lay in when under pressure.

A post-race veterinary examination of Liffey Lad revealed that the gelding had been galloped on on the off hind leg. Connection will be advised that a veterinary certificate must be submitted prior to the gelding racing again.

RACE 4 – LIQUOR STAX EVERYDAY LOW PRICES CLASS 2 HANDICAP- 1220 METRES

Following a report from the Starter that She’s Drahmatic was fractious in the barriers, connections were advised that the mare must complete a satisfactory trial prior to racing again.

After passing the 200 metres Partenza shifted out when under pressure.

RACE 5 – RIVERVIEW HOTEL BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP– 2150 METRES

Shortly after the start Able Ken shifted out inconveniencing Moonless.

Zabibo and Milson brushed on two occasions shortly after the start.

Zabibo hung out and raced wide for the majority of the race.

Passing the 400 metres Geegee Pretty Jess was tightened for room between Delightful Weekend which shifted in slightly and Zabibo which hung out.

Over the last 100 metres Milson and Aventador raced tightly.

Sigrid Carr rider of Gee Gee Black Fury was reprimanded under AR 137A(4)(c) in that she used the whip when out of contention.

RACE 6 – TRC HOTEL BENCHMARK 82 HANDICAP–1220 METRES

For a short distance near the 400 metres Gee Gees Top Notch was held up for a run.

RACE 7 – CRESSY CHAFF CUTTERS CLASS 1 HANDICAP DIV 1 (1)– 1420 METRES

The Stockman jumped away awkwardly.

Prior to entering the home straight Debauche was held up for a run for a short distance.

Approaching the winning post Cameo Kiss shifted in under pressure resulting in Sigrid Carr rider of the mare being unable to ride out to the line in her normal manner.

David Pires rider of Nice Knickers which performed below expectations could offer no explanation for the mare’s performance tonight other than she failed to respond to his riding from the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

RACE 8 – LONGFORD CUP NEW YEARS DAY CLASS 1 HANDICAP DIV 2 (2) – 1420 METRES

Passing the 1100 metres Mensa Magic was hampered when tightened for room by Becerikli which shifted in before being straightened by its rider.

Near the 900 metres Mensa Magic was tightened for room by Becerikli (V Wong) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Victor Wong was reprimanded under AR 137(a) careless riding and notified to ensure he is sufficiently clear of other runners.

In the home straight Magnacash shifted out when under pressure.
