ADVERT – ASSET OFFICER (2 YEARS CONTRACT)

Beyond Zero is a 10-year-strong NGO that focuses on HIV/AIDS/TB programmes as a platform for broader public health transformation. We are recruiting for an experienced Asset Officer to join our team in our head offices in East London, Eastern Cape. Remuneration package will be market related and based on experience plus competitive employment benefits.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Overall responsible for Asset Management which will include, but not limited to:
  • Reconstructing an Asset Register, accounting for all Beyond Zero’s assets, which meets the requirements / threshold as per the asset policy
  • Re-barcode all assets to enable automated verification processes
  • Perform a physical verification of all assets
  • Developing & Maintaining Inventory Registers for donor assets
  • Receiving and Dispatching of stock / assets, once barcoded – including reconciliation of stock
  • Performing general Ledger reconciliations – reconciling Asset register to General Ledger
  • Manage the process of disposal of obsolete, broken assets
  • Ensure that the depreciation journal be passed on a monthly basis
  • Assist with the implementation of a the new fixed asset system
  • Run Month end procedures in RAM system in order to calculate depreciation , proceeds and profit and loss
  • Prepare month end packs for sign-off by Supervisor
  • Ensure that all reconciling items are followed in proceeding month
  • Perform year end procedure
  1. Review the current Insurance schedules and benchmark to the current market options available.
  2. Oversee fleet management which include but not limited to:
  • Review of monthly SkyTrack reports
  • Review of vehicle inspection reports
  1. Responsible for the managing risk pertaining to this section
  2. Supervising fleet/asset officer
  3. Provide on-job training to asset officer
  4. Provide trainings to staff in the regional offices and ensure inclusive of asset responsibility in job description linked to G&C training on regulations
  5. Develop lessons learnt and develop final report on migration and verification.
  6. Report to the Grants and Compliance Manager

Educational Qualifications:

BCom Degree or equivalent

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 year’s experience within a finance environment
  • Experience in the fixed assets management field will be an added advantage
  • Experience and knowledge of donour regulation governing US funded project
  • ERP system experience in fixed asset module
  • Experience with RAM Assets 4000 will be highly advantageous
