2012 Premier Catalog FAQ’s

Q1. What is the minimum quantity to order?

A. The minimum quantity will be 100 pieces for the initial run of the catalogs.

Q2. Can I order more than 100?

A. Yes. You can order catalogs in increments of 25.

Q3. How much will the custom catalogs cost?

A. The custom catalogs will be $2.00 each with a minimum of 100 pieces for the initial run.

Q4. How do I pay for the 2012 AIA Premier Catalogs?

A. the cost of the catalogs will be paid thru your OCR. If you are a direct bill Owner, please contact Marketing Services for an alternate payment method.

Q5. When can I place my order?

A. Now – start by logging on to sagemember.com.

Q6. When will I receive my catalogs?

A. If you submitted your catalog order December 9th, 2011, you will receive your catalogs the 2nd week of February 2012 (depending on your location). If you submitted your catalog order after December 9th, 2011, you will start receiving your catalogs towards the end of February 2012.

Q7. What if I do not subscribe to SAGE, can I still order the 2012 AIA Premier Catalogs?

A. Yes! SAGE will ask that you sign an application to give you access to the SAGE member website and process your order. To access the application, click here:

When you sign the application you are agreeing to only access the site to complete your catalog order, since you are not a member/subscriber of SAGE.

Q8. What is the imprint area for the personalization on the front and back cover of the stock options?

A. Front Cover imprint area: 4”x1.25” & Back Cover imprint area: 7.5” x 2.5” (Location is dictated by the cover design)

Q9. What file types/art specifications are accepted for my logo and contact information for the stock cover options?

A. The file types/art specifications are 300 DPI, RGB color, and in JPG, PNG, TIFF or BMP format.

Q10. What art specifications do I need to follow for the custom cover option?

A.  Specifications are:

·  Bleed (Full Image Size): 17.5" x 11.375" (5250px x 3413px)

·  Trim: 17" x 10.875"

·  Live Matter area: 16.50" x 10.375" (All text needs to be inside this area)

·  The spine portion of the artwork is 0.1875 x 10.875" and lies directly in the center of the trim area. DO NOT ATTEMPT A SPINE PRINT.

·  Artwork must be 300 DPI, RGB color, and in JPG, PNG, TIFF or BMP format.

·  We recommend avoiding black or very dark backgrounds.

·  Please do not put crop marks on the image

Q11. Do I have to add an imprint to a stock catalog cover or can I just order blanks?

A. No you do not. There will be an option for you to select through the order process called “No Personalization” for you to order just blank catalogs. If you choose this option, the cost of the catalog will be $1.30.

Q13. Will we have access to a 2012 e-catalog this year?

A.  Yes, we will provide FREE of charge an e-catalog link for each of the 2012 AIA Premier Catalog stock covers. The e-catalog link name extension will coincide with the order of the stock covers through the ordering process as shown below:

If you have used these same generic links for the 2011 catalog we will automatically update the links for 2012.

We will send out an announcement to inform you when the 2012 E-Catalog is available to view.

Q14. Will we have access to a 2012 AIA Premier Catalog Store provided by SAGE?

A. Yes, if you ordered the 2012 AIA Premier Catalogs, SAGE will create for you FREE of charge an online store featuring the products in the 2012 AIA Premier Catalog. Once completed a unique link to your store will be sent to you. This feature is only available for owners (SAGE subscribers and non-SAGE subscribers) who order the catalogs.

Q15. Will I be able to see a proof before the catalogs are printed?

A. Yes – during the new web to print order process you will be able to view your catalog layout for approval before it goes to print. How you approve it is how it will be printed.

Q16. After I upload my art files for a stock cover option, what if I don’t like the size of my personalization that is displaying in my proof?

A. It is important to have your personalization art files created according to the art specs provided in Q8 and Q9.

Q17. What if I do not have an artist to help me create my personalization for a stock cover option or custom cover option?

A.  We have freelancer information on The Forum under the Supplier Topic OR you can work with SAGE’s Art Services Team: http://www.artworkzone.com/ (Art costs are your responsibility and will be in addition to the cost of the catalogs).

Q18. Can I take one of your stock covers and make alterations to it?

A. Yes! We have saved the stock cover files along with the art specifications out on the FTP site for you to download the files and send to an artist to make your alterations. This would then fall under the “Custom Cover” option when you place your order. To access these files copy and paste the FTP site address below in your IE web browser and use the username and password to gain access. (Remember these are large files and may take awhile to download).

Q19. If I ordered the catalogs last year, will there be a reorder option?

A. Unfortunately no. You will need to upload your personalization at the time you place your order.


Q20. Why can’t I receive my catalogs until after the end of February, 2012?
A. The catalog orders that are placed after the initial deadline date of December 9th, 2011 are being deducted from AIA Corporation’s inventory. After the initial run is complete, AIA Corporate will have the interior merchandising pages available for you to bind on your digitally processed blank, personalized or custom cover. Inventory to fulfill these orders will be available early February ready to ship to you towards the end of February, 2012.
