November 14, 2013 meeting called to order by President Laura Carter

Introduction of host District: Tammy Loveless Royce City Transportation, NTAPT President Elect, introduced the areas of importance, restrooms and ect.

Introduction of Superintendent of Royce City ISD: Kevin Worthy

Vendors announced: Heavy Duty Bus Parts: Brandon Billingsley

Forward Edge: Margaret Gilbert

Mr. Billingsley talked about his company and how they were always happy to do business with the district of Region 10.

Ms. Gilbert introduced today’s drug paraphernalia with Aquafina Water bottles, and synthetic Urine in lotion type bottles that can be bought in stores. Barrel ended hair brushes that are used to hide drugs such as: marijuana, and cocaine, cigarettes.

She went on to say that Spray Armor All cans be used to get high. She stated the Forward Edge has an excellent reasonable Suspicion testing class, and offered to come to the Safety Meetings at service centers.

Then we were proudly introduced Texas Ranger Eric Kasper of Company “B” and based in Garland, Texas, and has been a Ranger since 2008. He stated that they (Rangers) assist local and state authorities with homicides and other matters. He went on to say that everyone should visit the Texas Rangers Museum in Waco, Texas. It is a great family experience.

President Laura Carter Gave a salute to Veterans and their families, thanked them for their service.

Introduced first time guests,

New members were from Dallas County Schools, Tyler ISD, Lindale ISD, Forney ISD and Lake Dallas ISD.

On the state level Ernest Del Bosque announced that the TAPT classes were on the website for the Frisco classes in January 2014, and that we decided not to go to Waco for TAPT. They decided to give it to Dallas at the Anatole in 2015 and 2019.

President Laura told everybody about the Adult Scholarship that was available to NTAPT members.

Susie Waugh spoke on the Student Scholarships that NTAPT offers to a graduating senior of a driver, monitor, or a family member that has a student graduating.

President Laura also gave information on the Speech Contest and to get your districts involved. Send out a mass email and get them involved.

She also spoke on the Regular and Special Needs Poster Contests and to once again get your districts involved. She shared a date in March 2014. Posters will be viewed at the March NTAPT meeting.

President Laura Carter spoke about the Bus Roadeo 2014 and the we already have vendor commitment. Hint, Hint she stated that was a challenge for all the vendors. SWI has already committed for the roadeo, Stuart & Stevenson, along with Hydrotex.

It is official that the local level of NTAPT will have a Transit bus part in their Roadeo.

Mr. Vollweiller shared that there will also be TASBT classes in Frisco in January 2014.

There is a email circulating for the voting on the types of buses to be used in the roadeo 2014.

Total in attendance was 95 members.
