“Home of the Best Burger in the World!” Celebrates 25 Years of Tradition
Andover, Kansas, June 2, 2007 – Timbuktu celebrates a quarter century of tradition in Andover, Kansas. For 25 years the Andover community has loyally called Timbuktu Bar & Grill “a place like home” because of the world famous Timbuktu Burgers, friendly service and lasting memories. It is more than a place to eat, it is a tradition. Visitors fromacross Kansas and the United Sates come to find out what is so special about the little building at the corner of 13th and Andover Road.

It’s a Luau on the patio Saturday, June 2, 2007 from 11 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Enjoy the famous "Fish Fry", entertainment by local songwriter and performer Matt Johnston from The Candle Club, and fun with "The Bud Guys" from Demo Sales! Originally a filling station built by Roy Hoyle in 1947, the Timbuktu building was purchased in 1982 by Bill & Marian Stuhlsatz and the tradition of Timbuktu began. When Marian was asked how they named the business she replied, "I remember opening up the encyclopedia and just pointing...my finger landed on Timbuktu.I thought Timbuktuwas afitting name because at that time it really was out in the middle of nowhere.”
Timbuktu has been owned and operated by a few local residents, including Bob Ruth for over 10 years. As Andover residents and strong supporters of the community, current owners, Larry and Michelle Sell, introduced the Timbuktu Community Partner program three years ago. This program provides a way for staff and customers to give input of where Timbuktu's charity dollars are directed monthly.
Timbuktu is a great place to meet new friends, old friends or just sit back and enjoy the casual atmosphere and great burgers.
