Approval of Minutes
from Meeting of
January 12, 2010 / Minutes approved as presented.
Ms. Gail-Gainer Bateman made a motion to approve the minutes of January 12, 2010. Ms. Sharon Mateja seconded the motion and the Committee unanimously voted to approve the minutes as presented.

Plaque of Appreciation
HMC Presentation / Ms. Gail-Gainer Bateman made a motion to appoint Tamara Torres as Secretary to the Citizen’s Oversight Committee. Ms. Sharon Mateja seconded the motion and the Committee unanimously voted to appoint Tamara Torres as Secretary to the Citizen’s Oversight Committee.
Ms. Daniele Sheridan discussed term limits for COC Members.
Ms. Gail-Gainer Bateman presented Mr. Ed Mireau with a plaque of appreciation. Mr. Mireau stated that Neff Construction appreciates the honor of working with Alvord Unified.
Ms. Patrice Langevin has been with HMC for 5 years. Ms. Langevin provided updated information on current projects.
Update on Current Bond Fund Expenditures
2008-2009
Annual Audits
and Annual Report / Ms. Tina Daigneault provided a brief update on the current expenditures as of March 15, 2010.
Mr. Paul Gill reviewed the 2008-2009 Annual Report. Discussion.
Ms. Gail-Gainer Bateman made a motion to receive and review the 2008-2009 Annual Audits. Ms. Sharon Mateja seconded the motion and the Committee unanimously voted to receive and review the 2008-2009 Annual Audits as presented.
Ms. Gail-Gainer Bateman made a motion to take the Citizens Oversight Committee Annual Report to the Alvord Board of Education. Mr. Javier Ruiz seconded the motion and the Committee unanimously voted to adopt and then present the Citizens Oversight Committee Annual Report to the Alvord Board of Education. / Paul Gill stated:

Postscript:
The Citizens Oversight Committee Annual Report was submitted to the Alvord Board of Education on May 6, 2010 as Agenda Item # 14
Comments / Question: When was the previous bond completely expended? Was the bond paid within the time frame?
Ms. Tina Daigneault will look up previous bonds & report back to all Committee Members.
Paul Gill recalls the request, and we will rely on Tamara Torres to get information from Charlene Edivan, Tina Daigneault and Angie Lopez to give to Irene Estrada. Paul Gill asked Irene Estrada to specifically give us the request and to please stay in touch because he wants to make that information available.
Next Citizens’ Oversight Committee Meeting / The next Citizens’ Oversight Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 13, 2010, 6:30 p.m., at Myra Linn Elementary School located at 10435 Branigan Way, Riverside, CA 92505.
Possible Next Meeting Locations: Wells / Valley View / Wells / Postscript: Tamara Torres sent e-mail notices to the Committee members with the date, time and location of the next Citizens’ Oversight Committee meeting.
Future Agenda Items / Dr. Sharon Mateja requested the structure of curriculum be added as a future agenda item. Mr. Paul Gill said he would look into this topic.
Adjournment / Mr. Zack Earp called for a motion to adjourn the Citizens’ Oversight Committee meeting. Ms. Gail-Gainer Bateman made a motion to adjourn. Ms. Sharon Mateja seconded the motion and the Committee unanimously agreed to adjourn the meeting at 7:08 pm.
