- Development, by the Taskforce, of a sensitisation programme for the public sanitation facility.
1. Site Visit(10:00 AM – 11:30 AM)
The objectives of the site visit are to assess the progress made and to explain the public sanitation facility to the members of the Taskforce. Attention will be paid to:
- The technical and hygienic aspects of the public sanitation facility.
- The services offered by the facility.
- The way the facility will be managed by the WSP and by the Operator.
2. Sensitisation Programme Preparation Meeting (11.30 AM – 1:30 PM)
Many Naivasha residents have asked the Contractor responsible for the construction of the public sanitation facility and staff of the NAIVAWASSC,why a structure is being constructed at the bus station. This is an indication that there is need to inform residents, visitors and travellers on the objectives of the public sanitation project. The preparation of a sensitisation programme can be done by discussing the following questions:
- Is there need to sensitise residents?
- Who need to be sensitised (what are our target groups)?
- What are the objectives of the sensitisation programme?
- Which activities do we wish to carry out to achieve these objectives and to reach these target groups?
- What are the messages we would like to communicate to our target groups?
- Which media (posters, flyers, radio message, Baraza, megaphone message, etc.) should we use to communicate our messages to our target groups?
- How shall we organize our activities and who should be in charge of them?
- Whereand whenshould our activities take place?
- How do we create an efficient programme out of the various activities?
- Next meeting and activities of the Taskforce (Who does what?).
- Contact details of Taskforce members.
