SpiritusBeenleigh Youth Accommodation & Support Services (BYASS)

BYASS provides young people, male and female aged 16 to 17, and their families with support during times of crisis. We also assist others aged 12 to 15 who have parental consent.
The aim is to provide a quality service and a holistic response to young people who are at risk of homelessness, and their families. There is provision of fully supported short term accommodation in an environment where young people can feel accepted and secure, learn new life skills and be assisted to move out of crisis towards greater independence.
It is the hope that conflicts between young people and their families can be reconciled through this Service providing family mediation and/or counselling so that young people can resolve conflicts and return home. The counselling and/or mediation services are offered to all young people, regardless of whether they are housed within the service or not.
Semi independent accommodation is also available to young people over the age of 16 years. Access to this accommodation is generally after assessment through our short term accommodation.
BYASS provides programs and workshops for young people and families in the community.
