Guest Speakers:
Bryden Becker, Director American Royal Parade: Bryden gave a brief overview of the Parade, the focus on veterans and active service. They currently have over 300 participants, but entries are still being accepted. Bryden thanked the committee for our support. Date of the event is September 28, 2013.
William Minner, DHS/TSA, Wounded Warrior/Military Injured Program: William gave a detailed review of the current security requirements at MCI and projected security features for future implementation. He also discussed the Wounded Warrior/Military Injured Program which allows individuals to bypass routine security.
Gerry Hollis & Robyn Burky, Team Red White and Blue: Gerry gave a brief presentation of Team RWB and the local chapter. The goal of Team RWB is to enrich the lives of veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. They have weekly events posted on their Facebook.We will post their website on the committee’s website.

AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE ACT: Lorelei Schieferdecker has no new updates; they are awaiting the October 1, 2013 plan availability date.
HOMELESS: Lisa Foodim reported the seminar “Working Together to Improve Veterans Mental Health was held 30 July 2013 at Kauffman Conference Center. The seminar was very successful

Carrie Rosetti reported that Catholic Charities has set a ground breaking date of September 25, 2013 for the St. Michaels Center.
Rebecca Bradley reported that the Missouri Veterans Commission has initiated the Missouri War Medallion Program for veterans. Application forms were distributed
