Job purpose
·  To support the Reporting & Business Intelligence Team with the delivery of QlikView applications and other reporting and information services, including database development, SQL-based report writing and information analysis.
·  To ensure these activities contribute to the security, reliability and data quality of core business information systems.
·  To identify and deliver improvements and enhancements through controlled change management processes to improve the delivery of information services to NETSCC.
·  To participate (where required) in NETSCC-wide projects, and to support the continual review of information needs across NETSCC, NIHR and DH whilst also ensuring, accordingly, that existing information related standards and policies are up to date and being met.
·  To support the delivery of the NETSCC and NIHR Information Strategies
·  To work with other members of the team to deliver a quality service (and provide cover for them), with the objective of allowing the team to continue to meet business needs when other supporting roles are unavailable or require additional capacity to deliver a high priority task.

1.  / Gathering reporting requirements from business users. Developing analytical reports and dashboards, including visualisations which meet user requirements and provide them with insights into their area of the NETSCC business or the wider NIHR. Maintain technical documentation associated with your developed solutions / 35%
2.  / To work closely with other members of the Reporting & Business Intelligence Team to develop the suite of transactional, management information and decision support reports and dashboards available to the business / 25%

Internal and external relationships /
·  The post holder will be expected to work productively with other iSolutions staff as part of an integrated team, so that NETSCC information management is developed within the University-wide framework appropriately adapted to local needs.
·  The post holder will be expected to help establish robust working relationships with suppliers based on clearly defined service levels and standards, working practices and change management procedures. They will work with other staff within NETS programmes to understand their database and information needs and support the team in factoring these into the Information Strategy, business planning and budgeting.
·  The post holder will work with external staff, for example at DH or NIHR, to provide information as appropriate and to be aware of DH guidance on matters such as the Data Protection Act.

Previous project management experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL (T SQL) including: stored procedures, triggers, functions
Experienced in delivering end-to-end development of QlikView application design and development including:
·  Requirement gathering,
·  SQL data modelling,
·  QlikView scripting/QVD development,
·  QlikView application design,
·  Set analysis,
·  Testing and sign off process
An understanding of database design.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project / Prince 2 and/or ITIL qualification
Experience of developing with Microsoft BI Products: SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
Experience of development with other Qlik products: QlikSense, NPrinting, GeoQlik and other extension objects
Experience of Dashboard development
Experience of database troubleshooting and query optimisation
