Multilingual Wellbeing Service (MWS)

The Multilingual Wellbeing Service (MWS) is a newly formed consortium aiming to work with BMER communities and those impacted by higher deprivation environments to improve understanding and access to emotional resilience and wellbeing services. MWS aims to increase awareness and reduce stigma associated with mental health problems among the targeted BMER groups in Barnet. The founding partners are Barnet Refugee Service, Chinese Mental health Association, Afghan Association Paiwand and Farsophone Association.

Job Description

POSITION:Administrator

SALARY:£8.30 per Hour – 15 hours per week

RESPONSIBLE TO:Service Development Manager – Multilingual Wellbeing

Service (MWS)

BASED AT: The post holder will be based at Edgware Community

Hospital, however, they may be required to work from

at other bases and across Barnet

Contract: 4 year contract – (further extension is subject to further

funding)

  1. Purpose of job

To provide general administration forMWS.

  1. Main tasks

2.1.Assist answering telephone and general correspondence.

2.2.Assist in development and maintenance of MWS publicity materials.

2.3.Assistthe Advocacy Officer with filing, correspondence and photocopying.

2.4.Deal with incoming and outgoing mail.

2.5.Assist the Project Manager with computerised financial records and client database.

2.6.Assist in producing statistics and reports.

2.7.Deal with petty cash systems and basic book keeping.

2.8.Co-ordinate a team of volunteers who will provide admin support.

2.9.Attend regular supervisory sessions with the Service Development Manager and provide verbal/written reports as appropriate.

2.10.Undertake training relevant to the job in order to keep up to date with issues relevant to providing a good service for BMER communities.

Undertake any other appropriate duties relevant to the post as directed fromtime to time by the Service development Manager.

Experience of

  • Direct work with BMER communities for a least two years(D)
  • Working with volunteers (E)
  • Devising and maintaining good systems of record keeping of clients details (E)
  • Producing statistical reports on a monthly and quarterly basis (E)

Knowledge of

  • IT programmes such as Microsoft Office(E)
  • Operating a database(E)
  • Management account software such as Sage (D)

Ability to

  • Work with and present to a range of people (E)
  • Work independently with minimum supervision, plan workloads and organise varied projects and activities, working to deadlines(E)
