Please read on…

To those who didn’t make it: Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to take a risk and try out. As far as other options for next year…I hope you won’t give up on choir and seriously consider taking Concert Choir, considering all the talent I saw audition, I think we will have a great group! They will also have uniforms and will be performing along with Rhapsody for 2 concerts, the Grizzlies Game & Choral Festival. And definitely, you all need to try out for next year’s school musical. Please know that it doesn’t mean you don’t have talent. Most voices are still not fully developed at this age. Most of you only missed by a few points. And some of you are only 1 or 2 points below those who made it. You can’t believe how many people in the past didn’t make it for Rhapsody that have gone on to be leads in our school musical or in the top choirs at the High School, College and so-on. It happens a lot in the professional world too. And, if you’d like, in a couple of weeks, you may come in after school and I’ll show you your judge sheets and discuss what areas you can work on in the future. Thanks for trying out, I know it was terribly scary for some of you, remember, these things build character. Please stay positive and above all, keep singing! J

To those of you who made it: Congratulations! I’m excited for you and the fun we’ll have next year. You’re very talented, and maybe a little lucky, really, some of you only have 2 more points than some of those that didn’t make it. So don’t let it go to your head! Please be sensitive. Be gracious and kind around your friends that aren’t on the list. Refrain from asking questions about Rhapsody in front of the entire class. Have a heart, and be careful not to brag and act too excited about Rhapsody stuff in front of others who didn’t make it. We will have a short meeting on Monday after school to discuss costumes and contracts, see you then. If you are unable to attend please get the info. from me ASAP. J
