I.  About SVEF

Silicon Valley Employers Forum is a 501c6 trade association. The coalition of high tech employers has as its mission, “…to build collective intelligence regarding corporate employee benefits….” SVEF consists of two “forums”, one to address benefits of domestically employed populations and the other to address the benefits of internationally-based employees. The group benchmarks and shares best practices along multiple types of benefits including medical, pension, retirement, time off, income protection, etc. Although the vast majority of SVEF member companies have a large presence in the Silicon Valley region, this is not exclusively the case. As a membership organization, SVEF staff prioritizes the value equation of membership for our constituent employers and strives to directly and positively impact everyday work duties of our participating individuals. We enjoy “delighting” our members.

II. Summary of Job

This individual will:

·  Help identify projects, define scope and requirements and establish deliverables for various projects including taking complete responsibility for select self-directed projects,

·  Manage the SVEIF International Database Project,

·  Be responsible for meeting agreed upon project timelines and for managing timeline development and adaptation,

·  Analyze and present findings for various surveys, both domestic and international,

·  Present work product to membership, including “Ad Hoc Summaries” for which the Project Manager takes full development and preparation responsibility,

·  Facilitate the Regional Roundtable, for which the Project Manager develops all agendas.

·  Facilitates other membership workgroup phone calls as directed,

·  Attend vendor events to understand current benefits landscape and trends and represent SVEF/SVEIF when necessary,

·  Provide excellent membership support at all times, taking the extra steps necessary to assure that members continually observe member value, and

·  Accept other job responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director.

III. Reporting Relationship(s)

·  This position reports to the Executive Director.

·  This position requisitions job support from administrative staff but does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

IV. Core Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management: SVEIF International Database Project

Strategic

·  As “owner” of the SVEIF International Database Project, this individual seeks to find synergistic opportunities between the tool and other Forum activities. Specifically the Project Manager will leverage Regional Roundtable discussions (and other activities) that are benefit-topical in nature to recognize areas of interest to Member companies and will subsequently use that information to optimize opportunities to use the data.

·  The Project Manager engages with Member companies to better understand opportunities for bringing tactical value to their job assignments. To the degree that the tool supports these opportunities, the Project Manager takes initiative to follow through. E.g., there may be country specific surveys (ad hoc Member-driven or SVEIF staff-driven) that are enhanced or supported by the tool’s data.

·  Ultimately, the International Database Project Manager is responsible for demonstrating project value to current users and prospective users and engages actively in “marketing” the project to non-participating members.


Process Management

·  The International Database Project manager facilitates meetings with the Steering Committee, Primary User Group, and Regional User Groups to assure smooth processes and proceedings relative to the project. The nature of Project Manager group interactions includes:

o  Soliciting ideas and input about direction and project next steps

o  Relaying ideas about opportunities to optimize project participation and process next steps

o  Sharing content information deemed from the Project, e.g. trends, legislative changes, best practices, outlier situations, etc.

o  Data entry deadline management

·  The Project Manager has responsibility for vendor management and coordinates with the project vendor to facilitate all upgrade launches, content communications, trainings, etc. The Project Manager is the liaison between participating Member companies and the vendor and ensures timely resolution to users’ requests or technical issues.

Administrative

·  Manages users’ access and permissions

·  Customizes questionnaire templates in accordance with facilitated group decisions

·  Creates reports of own design or as designated of value by the group

·  Shares data and information amongst member companies

·  Maintains group documentation, e.g. meeting notes, legal documentation, vendor progress reports, etc.

Data Analysis:

Strategic

·  The Project Manager supports Executive Director in analysis of multiple survey deliverables, notably the Domestic Benchmark Survey and the International Global Practice and Policy Survey. This entails responsibility for entire sections including the analysis, framing the commentary, and building the presentation.


Process Management

·  The Project manager participates in developing the project plan including timelines.

·  Working independently, the Project Manager analyzes findings.

·  The Project Manager develops portions of a presentation and is responsible for presenting findings, including fielding questions and recognizing follow-up actions.

Administrative

·  Uses Excel and PowerPoint soft wares proficiently

·  Takes responsibility for integrating entire presentations of multiple presenters and “finishing” the product with transition and integration slides.

Regional Roundtables

Strategic

·  Using data and learnings from other sources within and external to SVEIF, the Project Manager brings SVEIF membership value to the regional level of SVEIF corporate members while at the same time extracting information and insight to support existing and new value-add projects.

Process Management

·  Develop agendas using own research, existing member case studies, and on occasion, vendor presentations.

·  Facilitate discussions.

Administration

·  Maintain distribution lists

·  Solicit meeting content ideas

·  Communicate scheduled meetings at appropriate intervals

·  Prepare meeting notes and distribute for edit

Sessions at Quarterly International Meetings

Strategic

·  Using data and learnings from other sources within and external to SVEIF, the Project Manager presents a regional overview and summarizes ad hoc survey results each quarter.

Process Management

·  Analyzes various data sources

·  Develops framework and slide deck for presentation.

Administrative

·  Uses Excel and PowerPoint soft wares proficiently

·  Builds and adheres to personal work plan to meet pre-determine meeting timelines. .

Other Job Responsibilities as Directed by Executive Director

·  This includes flexible work assignments with sometimes undefined outcomes as project feasibilities are determined.

·  Familiarity with international and domestic corporate benefits subject matter

·  Proficient Microsoft Office Skills with demonstrated capabilities using Excel for charting and graphing

·  Group facilitation skills, and public speaking experience.

·  Expert time management skills to support self-directed work plans

·  Expert ability for establishing systems for administration and project tracking

·  Experience with vendor management

·  Creative problem solving capabilities with demonstrated capacity to “think outside the box” for generating new utility and valued output from an established product.
