ARRANGEMENTS
Meet at 10am for a 10.30 start.
Rendezvous: Gravelled area by office. North Barn Farm, Long Bredy, Dorset DT2 9EF
From Bridport follow signs and head for Dorchester on the A35. Approximately 7 miles at the end of the second dual-carriageway at the bottom of the hill turn LEFT. This is opposite the turning for Long Bredy on the right.
From Dorchester head towards Bridport on the A35. Approximately 12 miles the road starts to climb with Kingston Russell on the right, carry on until you see the start of the carriageway. At the bottom of the hill and before the carriageway YOU MUST TURN LEFT for Long Bredy and then do U-turn 15 metres down the hill and around the island and head back up the hill towards the carriageway. North Barn Farms entrance is straight ahead across the road.
Please be very careful crossing the carriageway as this junction can be hazardous.
Please can we remind everybody to ensure that their footwear and vehicles are clean to help prevent the spread of pest and diseases. There will be Bio security kits available to clean footwear before departing the woodland in the afternoon.
The route that we take around the estate will be decided on the day due to the unpredictability of fog and ground conditions the estate experiences. We will stop at various points to discuss different aspects of the project and give an impression of the scale of the plantation. Access through the estate is not suitable for cars.
