Will of GEORGE WILDE ofledbury, CORVISER, 1626/7

In the name of God Amen. The 19th day of February AD 1626 and the year of the reign of our lord Charles, by the grace of God now of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, king, defender of the faith etc, the second. I George Wilde of Ledbury in the county and diocese of Hereford, corviser, being sick in body but of good and perfect remembrance, laud and praise be unto God therefore, do make and ordain this my testament containing herein my last will in manner and form following, that is to say: First I commend my soul to Almighty God my maker, assuredly trusting throught the merits, death and passion of his son Christ Jesus to be saved, and my body to be buried in the parish church of Ledbury aforesaid. Item I give and bequeath and devise unto Anne my now wife the house or tenement, backside and garden with the appurtenances wherein I do now inhabit and dwell, situate, set and lying in the Homend street of Ledbury aforesaid, together with my tenement or shop with the appurtenances situate and being in the Catherine row in Ledbury aforesaid, now likewise in the tenure or occupation of me the said George Wilde. To have and to hold the foresaid messuage or tenement, backside and garden, and the other tenement or shop before devised with the appurtenances, unto the said Anne my wife for and during the term of her natural life. And after her decease I will and devise and bequeath the foresaid messuage or tenement, backside and garden, together with the shop or tenement aforesaid, with all and singular their appurtenances unto Thomas Wilde my son and his heirs and assigns for ever. To have and to hold the said messuage or tenement and shop and other the premises, with the appurtenances, unto the said Thomas Wilde, his heirs and assigns for ever. Item I give and bequeath unto the foresaid Anne my wife all and singular my goods, moveable and unmoveable whatsoever or in whose hands or possession the same be or by whom they are owing unto me. And I do make, constitute and ordain the said Anne my wife my sole and only executrix of this my will and testament, utterly renouncing, revoking and ‘unhillateinge’ [annihilating?] all and every former wills, legacies and bequests by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
