Congratulations

Congrats to 16 year old Jarvan Nulty Drogheda on his selection on the Irish Cycling squad for the European Olympics in Finland later this year. A young junior who has a bright future in his sport is the son of the legendary Colm Nulty, a former winner of the Rás Tailteann. Jarvan trained hard for this event and has reaped the rewards by being selected for Tampere Finland. Best wishes from all in the Club.

Congratulations also to the two Dunleer AC athletes who took parting the FBD Rás, Colm Robinson and Barry Monaghan. Robinson won the King of the Mountains on the first stage. He and former All Ireland Cross Country Champion Barry Monaghan have continued the long association between the Mid Louth Club and the Rás.

Sympathy

A vote of sympathy was passed by the Club to Brian Durnin and his two children on the death of Catherina (née De Courcey), former Dunleer AC stalwart for many years. A native of Collon Catherina spent all of her married life in Ardee. There was a fine turn out for the removal on Saturday evening, with her former teammates forming a guard of honour in the Club’s colours. Many were meeting for the first time in many years. Catherina was laid to rest in Balapousta cemetery.
