PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION
Board: General Council (Creative Production Department)
Job Title: Senior Communications Assistant (Press and Web) Maternity leave cover
Salary Grade: A4 - £19,268 - £22,189 per annum, pro rata (with effect from 1.1.2018)
Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week
Responsible to: Head of Creative Production
CRITERIA
1. Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
· OCR Level 2 in Word Processing or equivalent in qualifications or competence
· A sound knowledge of Microsoft applications
· Minimum of 5 GCSE passes at Grades A-C including English Language or equivalent qualifications
· A qualification above GCSE level with a significant emphasis on written English (e.g. an A level in English Language, or a degree with a large written component)
· Ability to access web based information
Desirable
· A further education level qualification in a discipline relevant to the job role
(e.g. English, Journalism, Marketing, Theology, Media Studies)
· Knowledge of working with Apple computers
· Experience in proof reading or sub-editing
2. Relevant Experience
Essential
· A minimum of 2 year’s experience of working in an office environment.
· Experience of uploading material to the web
· Experience of maintaining and updating databases
Desirable
· Experience of raising invoices and working with financial accounts
· Experience of working with press and media
· Experience of working with publications including subscriptions, advertising and delivery
· Practical understanding of journalism, copywriting, marketing or social media
· Experience in dealing with the general public
· In-depth experience of working with a Content Management System
