MINUTES OF THE APRIL 20, 2015 MEETING

Rosemary Hogan-Cunningham called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

MEMBER’S PRESENT: Rosemary Hogan-Cunningham, Chairman, Sue Cannon, Roger Nelson, and Frances Urbank.

ALSO PRESENT: Ann Marie Claffey, Director, and Lori LaPointe, Assist. To Director.

ABSENT: Cindy Cooper, William Hamel, Douglas Hamilton, Edward Lanati, and Barbara Sullivan.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Tabled.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Tabled.

PUBLIC INPUT: N/A.

BUS COORDINATOR’S REPORT: Tabled.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Ann Marie Claffey presented the Directors Report.

Ø  Programs and Upcoming events: Slide and Travel Show (4/1), Eye Care Bingo (4/14), AARP Safe Driving Class (4/13), Volunteer Luncheon (4/21), Eversource Energy Program (4/28), Nutrition Class (4/29), Mothers Day Breakfast (5/13), Heritage Week (week of 5/18), Middle School Program at Center (5/19), Tour of Memorial Hall (5/20), Painting Dedication (5/21), Memorial Day Parade (5/25), Spring Fling, Spa Day, Antiques Road Show, Coin Collection, Historical Society Presentation, 'Tour De Locks', Retirees Financial Seminar, and Genealogy Series. Locks Fitness Center had approximately 249 visits in March.

Ø  Charter Trips include: Cape May Diamonds Atlantic City Gold (May 5-7), "Joseph" Kutztown Folk Festival & Sands Casino Bethlehem, PA (June 25-27), Winnipesaukee Railroad Turkey Train (9/29), Oktoberfest @ The Platzl Brauhaus Pomona, NY (10/13), I Love Lucy Show Comedy Show & Twin Lobsters at the Hukelau (7/15), Connecticut Rail & Sail (6/23), Polka Party At The Baltic Restaurant (9/17), Seafood & Sunflowers,

(7/29), Mackinac Island 8 days/7 nights, Halloween in Salem (10/17). Casino trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan. Center Bus Trip shopping in Enfield and Lunch at Chick-Fil-A (4/15).

Ø  Bus Purchase update: Estimated time of delivery is August/September 2015.

Ø  Budget FY 2015/2016: Ann Marie Claffey presented the appropriated budget as provided by the finance dept.

Ø  Four paintings by Harold Roberts were restored. Two are at the town hall, two are hung at the senior center. There will be a presentation with a dedication to the armed forces on May 21, 2015 for the paintings at the senior center.

Ø  A drivers meeting was held, they went over the bus policies.

Ø  Out of town bus trips have been consolidated.

Ø  Bus policies need to be looked at, issues with inappropriate language.
