POWERFUL INTERNATIONAL FIELD, FEATURING 30 MAJOR CHAMPIONS, SET

FOR HISTORIC OAK HILL COUNTRY CLUB AT THE 95th PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. –Oak Hill Country Club of Rochester, N.Y.,a course that his withstood the evolution of golf equipment and skilled players to remain a challenging layout, will host the strongest and deepest all-professional field of the year, Aug. 8-11, at the 95th PGA Championship.

The 156-player roster includes 99 of the top 100 players of the current Official World Golf Rankings. The field features 30 major champions, 70 international players representing 21 countries, and all three of the year’s major winners. They will compete for the Wanamaker Trophy as Oak Hill hosts the Season’s Final Major for the third time in its 88-year history.

Defending Champion Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland heads 13 past Champions in the field. He is joined by Rich Beem (2002), Keegan Bradley (2011), Mark Brooks (1996), Padraig Harrington (2008), Martin Kaymer (2010), Davis Love III (1997), Shaun Micheel (2003), Phil Mickelson (2005), Vijay Singh (1998, 2004), David Toms (2001), Tiger Woods (1999, 2000, ’06, ’07), and Y.E. Yang (2009).

The 30 major champions competing at Oak Hill own a combined 63 major championships. They are: Beem, Bradley, Mark Brooks, Angel Cabrera, Stewart Cink, Darren Clarke, Ben Curtis, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Lucas Glover, Harrington, Zach Johnson, Kaymer, Paul Lawrie, Love, Graeme McDowell, McIlroy, Micheel, Mickelson, Geoff Ogilvy, Justin Rose, Charl Schwartzel, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson, Singh, Toms, Bubba Watson, Tom Watson, Woods, and Yang.

U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Tom Watson, 63, owner of eight major championships, makes his 32nd Championship appearance, No. 3 highest on the all-time list. He is joined in the field by European Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley.

Since its opening in 1925, Oak Hill Country Club has been America’s host to premier championships. In 1980, Jack Nicklaus won the first PGA Championship conducted at Oak Hill by a then-record seven strokes. In 2003, Micheel delivered one of the game’s iconic approach shots to clinch the Championship, with his ball stopping two inches from the flagstick on the 72nd hole. The Donald Ross-designed layout is the only club in the country to host the PGA Championship, Ryder Cup, Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, U.S. Open, U.S. Senior Open and the U.S. Amateur Championship.

Reigning PGA Professional National Champion Rod Perry, the PGA head professional at Crane Lakes Golf and Country Club in Port Orange, Fla., heads a delegation of 20 PGA Club Professionals earning a berth at the PGA Championship. The 20 earned a berth through last June’s PGA Professional National Championship in Sunriver, Ore.

Since 1994, the PGA Championship has featured the most ranked players among any major championship and has brought together the most international competitors in any U.S. major. The field will be completed following the conclusion of this weekend’s World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational and Reno-Tahoe Open.

Golf's best professionals began competing for the PGA Championship’s Wanamaker Trophy in 1916.
