CLEAN / Clean Equipment /
  • Ensure all foreign material removed.

CHECK / Main Body /
  • Check the all sections of the 30T cable crimper’s main body for any signs of damage or missing parts.

CHECK / Dies /
  • Remove both sections of the dies.
  • Inspect both sides of the dies for cracks, deformation and wear

CHECK / Grab Handle,
Top Yoke and
Die Housing /
  • Check that the top grab handle is not damaged and is firmly secured to the top yoke.
  • Check the top yoke for twisting or cracks.
  • Check the die housing for any signs of wear or deformation.

CHECK / Bottom Yoke
and Die Housing /
  • Check the bottom yoke is in good servable condition with no twisting or cracks.
  • Check the die housing for any signs of wear or deformation.
  • Check that yoke locking pins are present and fit securely into both sections of the yokes.

CHECK / Ram /
  • Check the ram is in good condition and there is no sign of damage.

To inspect the ram it will need to be extended. This should be done under low pressure
CHECK / Hose Couplers /
  • Check that both hose couplers are ingood servable condition with no leaks or damage to the threads.
  • Ensure that a dust cap is fitted to both coupling.

TEST / Pressure Test /
  • Before the commencement of the test,ensure that you are in a safe area to do so and that all correct P.P.E. is warn.
  • Insert a set of crimping dies into the crimper.
  • Check that a pump with a single action control head is used.
  • Fit certified pressure gauges to the pump making sure the fittings are fully seated together.
  • Turn the power on.
  • To test move control handle on the pumps manifold block to advance or engage.
  • Push the jog button on the hand control to start the pump andWhilst the pump is running check that the ram inside the main body of the crimper raises to full extension and there are no leaks from around the ram and that the pressure builds up on the pressure gauge.
  • Gauge should reach 10,000 PSI & hold for 30 sec without falling.
  • If the crimper fails to reach 10,000psi or goes over or does not hold the pressure the crimper should have service job card created and placed into the out of service area.
  • If all good release pressure and wait for the ram to retract then remove the dies.

  • Ensure it is current & in date & legible.

  • Replace KHS stickers if damaged or worn.
  • Ensure equipment looks presentable for hire.
  • Ensure Plant No and QR code is visible & legible.
  • Ensure Manufacturers stickers are current, legible & presentable for hire.
