Job Title: Enterprise Trainer

Job Type: Full-time Temporary (1 year), with a possibility of continuation if pilot is successful

Reports to: Business Support and Finance Manager

Salary: £27,500 p.a.

Organisational pension contribution (3% to an individual plan)

Location: Cantray Square or other location determined by the employer

Job Purpose

·  To develop an Enterprise training programme for young adults with additional support needs (mainly learning disability and/or autism)

·  Pilot the programme for one year, working with 24 young people to deliver enterprise training and to support 12+ to set up their own micro-enterprises

·  Support the remaining 12 young people to be more ‘enterprise ready’ or to pursue employment as an alternative to self-employment

·  Monitor and evaluate the pilot programme, using social impact measurement tools, to provide solid evidence for continuation funding until the programme becomes self-sustaining (through self-directed support fees)

Main Tasks

·  Support 24 young people through the process of setting up their own micro enterprises by delivering ASDAN enterprise training and providing one-to-one business development advice, guidance and support

·  Mark ASDAN course-work and submit for internal moderation (second marking)

·  Build the capacity, confidence, knowledge and skills of the young people

·  Ensure teaching methods, session content, advice and guidance meet the learners’ needs

·  Develop business ideas and support the young people to complete viable business plans and launch their micro businesses

·  Work in partnership with helpful agencies including business support organisations

·  Support the college to identify and recruit project participants

·  Provide regular reports and case studies to raise awareness of the new service and to publicise successes across media

·  Other duties and tasks, consistent with skills and expertise, as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential / Desirable
Education/ Qualifications/ Training / ·  Good standard of general education
·  Enterprise or business related qualification (or equivalent experience) / ·  Training qualification (e.g. PTLLS or equivalent)
·  Qualifications relating to working with adults with additional support needs
Experience/
Knowledge / ·  Providing enterprise support
·  Delivering training and developing sessions to suit the needs of learners
·  Understanding of Cantraybridge’s client group
·  Working with other agencies
·  Writing progress reports
·  Managing a varied workload
·  Ability to complete a business s plan including how to compile and assess financial projections and assess viability and risk
·  Knowledge of issues faced by people who want to become self-employed for the first time / ·  Knowledge / experience of working with young people with additional support needs
·  Using social impact measurement tools
·  Starting up/running own business
·  Working with a target-driven environment
