BSU Spring 2017 TransferStudent Check-List

(Steps 1-5 must be completed in order.)

STEP #1: CLAIM YOUR BSU USER ACCOUNT

Create your user account by going to . You will be prompted to create a password and will be assigned a Username and Email address. It may take up to one hour before your account is activated. Once your account is activated you should go to to get your PIN as this will be needed to access other electronic services on campus. You may continue on to step 2, while your account is being activated.

STEP #2: COMPLETE THE “TRANSFER 101 ONLINE PROGRAM FOR NEW TRANSFER STUDENTS”

All new transfer students must complete this session found at

Only students that have indicated their intention to enroll will be allowed to participate. You will be required to enter your BANNER ID to proceed, sent to you in your acceptance information. Once you have completed Transfer 101, you will be cleared to register.

STEP #3: SIGN UP FOR YOURGROUP ADVISING WORKSHOP(Sign up is available at the end of Transfer 101)

You will meet with an academic advisor from the BSU Academic Achievement Center to finalize your course schedule. You will be prompted to make this appointment at the conclusion of Transfer 101 in step #2.YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE SESSION (STEP #2) AND should REGISTER FOR CLASSES (STEP #5) BEFORE YOU ATTEND THIS SESSION!

STEP #4: SIGN UP AND ATTEND YOURONE-DAY TRANSFER ORIENTATION PROGRAM (Sign up is available at the end of Transfer 101)

As you begin the next phase of your academic life, we are excited to have you join the Bridgewater State University community. Your Transfer Orientation program is a part of every new student's career and plays an essential role in your success as a Bridgewater State University student. All new day transfer students are required to attend one of the Transfer Orientation dayprograms on August 29 or 30th in its entirety. STEP #5: REGISTER FOR YOUR COURSES

The Transfer 101 online session completed in STEP #2 taught you how to register for your courses (up to 18 credit hours) using our online registration system called InfoBear. The sooner you register for classes, the more options you will have in selecting courses that meet your scheduling and academicwishes. Please attempt to register for as many classes as possible PRIOR to your advising session in STEP3.

STEP #6: SUBMIT ALL FINAL OFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS

If you have not already done so, have all final official transcripts from previously attended institutions sent to the Office of Admission. Accurate placement testing requirements, transfer credit evaluations, and degree audits cannot be determined until these documents have been received and processed. This should be done before you attend your Advising Workshop if at all possible.

STEP #7: SUBMIT YOUR BSU STUDENT HEALTH FORM:

All students must have a Student Health and Counseling form on file with the Office of Health Services BEFORE attending classes. This form can be found at:. Please allow yourself enough time to have Doctor’s signature and appropriate inoculations included if needed.

STEP #8: HAVEN PLUS (A link will be provided at the end of Transfer 101)

All students new to BSU are required to complete an online sexual assault prevention course called Haven Plus. Victim-survivors may request an exemption from this course by calling the Title IX Coordinator at 508.531.2744 or emailing .

STEP #9: CONTACT MILITARY AND VETERAN STUDENT SERVICES (If applicable)

If you are in the military, a veteran, or are a military dependent, please contact Military and Veteran Student Services at (508) 531-2181 or . Support includes: review and discuss your benefits; receive an explanation of the Military Transcript process; review your cost of attendance and financial aid options; and review your academic plan.
