Data Collection
As if July 1, 2006, state regulation requires all dispensers of Schedule II, III, IV, and Vcontrolled substances to submit prescription dispensing information using new automated format within 30 days of the time that the controlled substance is dispensed.
OBNDDC can receive the data directly in one of following ways:
1.  Upload via the OBNDDC PMP Web Portal interface
2.  Direct upload via secure FTP (if supported by the pharmacy management software application) Request Secure FTP account.
3.  Submitted directly to OBNDDC via postal mail on approved media such as CD-ROM, magnetic tape, or diskette to the following address
4.  Paper submission. Approval to submit prescribing data on paper must be requested and received from the Director of the OBNDDC.
Threshold reports enable the PMP to identify possible doctor shoppers and inform the practitioner and if indicated law enforcement and the licensing board.
Access to Monitored Data and Confidentiality
The system provides limited secure access to authorized law enforcement, regulatory and licensing agencies, pharmacies, and practitioners throughout the state.
The generation of threshold reports provides information on possible doctor shoppers to practitioners.
