The Corporation reports that it had retained Reliance Geological Services Inc. (“Reliance”) to prepare a geological report on the Guadalupana Property in Potrero, Chihuahua, Mexico for review by The Alberta Stock Exchange (“The ASE”). The Corporation had been in contact with The ASE to ensure that the writer of the report was suitable to The ASE. Due to the Christmas holiday period, Mr. Peter Leriche, P. Geo. and his staff arrived at the mine site on January 8, 1999.
Upon his arrival at the mine site he was denied access to any of the workings, tunnels and shafts. In addition, the contractor hired by the Corporation to assist Reliance was also denied access to the property. Subsequently on January 18 and 22, 1999 Mr. Robert Fedun met with Mr. Leriche in Mexico for the purpose of assisting him with gaining access to the property. From a discussion with Mr. Leriche it was determined that attempting to visit the property at the time would not be advisable due to the likelihood of personal bodily harm ensuing. Information provided to the Corporation suggests that four people were killed in the immediate vicinity of the property recently. The area in which the Guadalupana Property in Potrero, Chihuahua, Mexico is located has limited policing. The Corporation is seeking the assistance of the Mexican government to rectify the problem. Mr. Leriche is preparing a summary respecting his findings excluding an actual visit.
In addition. Mr. Leriche will be contacting the company which previously mined the Guadalupana Property and will be retrieving information from Mr. Jim Wallis, P. Eng. who prepared a geological report on the property in 1996 (which report was not filed with The ASE) for the purposes of preparing a geological report for filing with The ASE. The Corporation has no assurance as to the suitability of this report for the purposes of The ASE.
The ASE has advised that they will require an engineering report based upon an on-site visit.
