Status: World Stage EUROGRADE (WSE) competitions are included in the cultural program of the city Primorsko, in the cultural calendar of the Ministry of Culture and the calendar of CID (UNESCO).

Purpose of the competition (WSE):

· By promoting the contemporary and traditional folk arts and preserving the diversity of the main traditional valuables and the identity of various nationalities we want to ensure the preservation and cultivation of all mankind;

· To give the chance to a significant number of children and young people to manifest their talents and to contribute for their engagement in constructive creative activities as a preventive measure in the fight against vicious addictions (cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc.) and aggression;

· Exchange of creative information and development of achievements in different dance and musical styles.

REGULATION

In the competition can participate dance groups, vocal groups and soloists as well as individual performers from all community centers, youth and student homes, schools and kindergartens, private schools, studios, clubs and groups, developing musical and dance art and promoting music and dance styles and techniques in different areas and age groups.

Competition nominations:

CHOREOGRAPHY AND VOCAL PERFORMANCES (FOLKLORE MUSIC)

Age groups: Children - under 11; Adolescents - from 12 to 15; Young people - from 16 to 33 years old;

REQUIREMENTS

CHOREOGRAPHY (authentic, processed and stylized):

-  The number of participants is not restricted.

-  The program shouldn’t be longer than 15 minutes and should include 2 dances. It’s recommended the first dance to be from the same region from which is the group. The second one is by choice.

VOCAL PERFORMERS (FOLKLORE MUSIC)

-  The program must include 2 songs, the first one - a cappella and the second one - with musical accompaniment – maximum duration of the program: 7 minutes.

Note!!! We recommend the musical accompaniment to be with live orchestra. Backing track only with studio record on CD. Playback is not allowed. The songs performance is consistently, exceptions are to be made only for performers who have to change their costumes.

МODERN CHOREOGRAPHY AND VOCAL PERFORMANCES (POPULAR MUSIC)

Age groups:

Mini – from 5 to 7; Children – from 8 to 11; Adolescents – from 12 to 15; Young people – from 16 to 33

Note!!! 70% of participants in the age group should comply with the age limit.

REQUIREMENTS

МODERN CHOREOGRAPHY

The program must include maximum four dances in the chosen age group – one in each category, with a total duration of 12 minutes (Solo and duet – 2:30 minutes, Chamber groups and formations – 5 minutes).

Note: The competition will be not conducted by styles, but the most attractive performance will be sought.

There won’t be ranking if participants in a category and age group are less than 3.

VOCAL PERFORMERS (POPULAR MUSIC): (pop, academic, choral singing, folk/folklore, old city songs, etc.).

The program of the vocal groups and soloists must include two songs – one of them must be from a Bulgarian author. The total duration of the program has to be maximum 6 minutes.

Note:

- Backing track only with studio record on CD, USB flash disc or portable hard disc.

- Playback performances are not allowed.

General qualification criteria:

1. Complexity of performance /performance complexity level/;

2. Quality of performance /performance technique/;

3. Vision /costumes, requisite, staging/;

4. Stage conduct /stage conduct, gestures, communication with the public, expression/.

Organization:

Programs for the individual performances and those for the days of competition will be handed to the groups on the day of their arrival. The organizers reserve the right to change the individual programs when necessary after their distribution.

The jury, together with its President will be appointed by the organizing committee of the competition session. It will be formed by proven professionals of culture and arts: directors, ballet-masters, choreograph artists, singers and pedagogues.

The jury has the right not to award all prizes; to share the prizes between the participants; to award special prizes and incentives.

It’s possible establishment of special prizes such as „For the most attractive performance”, „For choreography”, „For the youngest performer”, „For master performance”; „For mass performance”, etc.

The jury will select the winners by qualifying them based on a ten-score system by each of the above criteria. The minimum number of scores is 4, and the maximum - 40. The overall performance of the group / soloist will be qualified.

The results of each competition session are valid for the final ranking of the champions for the prize „WSE ABSOLUTE CHAMPION”. In the championship rank list are included all winners of the WSE during the respective year, and in the final ranking will be used also the results of the audience voting given at: www.eurogradebg.com. Voting for the WSE Absolute Champion is opened after the end of the last competition session for the respective year.

Participant will be awarded with diplomas: Laureate I, II, III degree and medals that will be bestowed at the closing of each competition session.

Video and photo capture of all public performances of the groups. The same will be broadcasted through the World Wide Web on the WSE TV channel.

(The organizers reserve the right to make any kind of recording, broadcasting, filming and distribution of materials without paying any rights or benefits).

Participants are provided with accommodation and half board upon payment at hotels and holiday homes of category 2, 3 and 4 * in the town of Sofia. Requests for valid offers and information about accommodation can be mailed to:

SIGNING UP

For participation in the festival is obligatory to fill an application form / application form /, that includes: artistic biography of the group, video, color photo images and promotional materials, address, phone, fax and e-mail address.

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

Registration fee for the competition program is paid once by each dancer /participant in all competition nominations/.

Soloist – 30 €

Duet and Trio – 20 € per each participant.

Group of 4 to 30 people – 15 € per each participant.

Group of 30 people and more - 10% discount.

Transportation costs to Sofia and back shall be borne by the participants.

Fees must be paid by bank transfer or upon notification and confirmation for participation from the organizers. Applications without confirmation and payment are considered invalid /canceled/.
