HOSTEL APPLICATION PROCESS

Nau Mai, Haere Mai and welcome to Tu Manawa Hostel.

The Trust was established in December of 2016 to oversee the running of the Hostel and support Tai Wananga Tu Toa to accommodate Taiohi that require accommodation and care while attending school.

We are currently a five day Boarding facility.

We want to make the hostel a positive, safe and environment for the young men that reside here.

Before deciding to apply for the Tu Manawa Hostel, feel welcome to view the Hostel and meet with Management to discuss Hostel life.

Please contact the Jason Torrey – our wonderful Hostel Manager if you wish to view or meet at any time.

Boarding

Boarding students are expected to arrive at the hostel by 6.30pm on a Sunday evening – fed and ready for their weeks activities, and remain until 4.00pm Friday afternoon. In the winter months (for sports) students are encouraged to stay on Friday evenings and return home after their individual sporting activity.

If there are any issues around the times/hours for which your son is attending the Hostel, this must be discussed with the Hostel Manager. Failure to undertake this could compromise your son’s ability to continue as a Tu Manawa Hostel Boarder.

Please ensure to inform the Hostel Manager (as well as Tai Wananga Tu Toa) if your son is ill or for some reason won’t be returning to the Hostel at the set time.

Hostel Boarding Fees
