The City of Henning has in place an ordinance that requires the property owner to be responsible for the renter’s utility bill in the event it is not being paid in a timely manner. As a result of this the City of Henning requires the new utility customer and the owner to fill out their portion of this form and return it to the City Office before utilities will be changed over. This form allows the City to inform the owner if there are any problems with utility payments.
This notice is a safety requirement of the MN Office of Pipeline Safety. The City of Henning maintains all of the public gas lines in its service area. However, the City of Henning does not maintain a customer’s buried piping. This is the piping that has been installed from, or after, the meter. Buried piping requires periodic inspection for leaks and corrosion as this could cause the gas to escape and ignite, potentially causing injury or even death. If corrosion or leaks occur on the customer piping you can contact local plumbing contractors to help locate and repair the pipe. It is further required that each new customer sign and return the white copy of this form and retaining the yellow copy for your records. If you plan to do any digging call Gopher State One Call at 1-800-252-1168 48 hours before you dig.
