PAG Debuts New Battery In Asia

19th May 2014 - PAG, the London based provider of high-quality camera power solutions, will show its new intelligent linking battery, for the first time in Asia, at Broadcast Asia, Singapore (Stand 5E2-03).
In addition to the company’s revolutionary V-Mount PAGlink battery range, PAG now offers Anton/Bauer® Gold Mount® connectivity. The new PAGlink HC-PL94T is considerably smaller and lighter than the new Anton/Bauer Digital 90 and the Dionic HC, and has a higher energy density. Compatibility with Gold Mount camera plates and Anton/Bauer Li-Ion chargers makes integration with existing inventory as economic as possible, and allows users of the 3-stud battery format to benefit from the many advantages of PAG’s unique intelligent linking battery technology.
PAG Sales Director Nigel Gardiner says “PAGlink offers more power, more technological advances, and more practical benefits than any other battery system”.

PAGlink allows up to 8 batteries, in any state of charge, to be linked for charge or discharge. Linking two batteries doubles capacity (188Wh), and gives a longer run-time than using individual batteries consecutively. It also allows a continuous output of 12A to be drawn - more than any other system, and ideal for powering a camera and multiple accessories simultaneously. Individual PAGlink batteries are capable of 10A. PAGlink batteries in any state of charge can also be hot-swapped for continuous power.
Uniquely, PAGlink allows the batteries to be charged whilst linked (up to 8 on each position), using Anton/Bauer Li-Ion chargers - putting an end to midnight battery swapping on location. Linked battery charging was developed by PAG and is unique to the PAGlink system.
The 94 Watt-hour, UN tested, PAGlink batteries are flight-friendly. Unlike high-capacity Li-Ion batteries (above 160Wh) offered by other manufacturers, PAGlink lets you fly legally with all the high-capacity power you need.

The PAGlink HC-PL94T incorporates a built-in display that provides remaining run-time information, on-load. The numeric display is conveniently positioned for ease-of-use, and shows remaining run-time in hours and minutes. The display maintains its accuracy by tracking cell-performance and adjusting calibration values to compensate for cell-ageing. When batteries are linked, the run-time figure is for the entire stack, but a single button press shows individual battery capacity as a percentage. In addition, PAGlink batteries communicate with the camera data system that allows AB batteries to display their remaining capacity in the camera viewfinder and LCD.
