Undergraduate
20 Essex Street Prize in Public International Law (6FFLK008)
One prize of £200 per year is generously provided by 20 Essex Street Chambers through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Public International Law examination. The prize is awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
A G Guest Prize in Contract (4FFLK002)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Professor A.G. Guest through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Elements of the Law of Contract examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the examiners in the Elements of the Law of Contract.
Agnes Day Prize (Intermediate/first year overall result)
One prize of £200 per year is generously provided by Professor Stephen Gilmore through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Intermediate (first year) examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the Chairman of the Board of Examiners of the Intermediate (fist year) examination.
Arnold and Porter Prize in Competition Law (6FFLK019)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Arnold and Porter through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Competition Law examination. The prize will be awarded on the nominations of the examiners in that subject.
Bindman Prize in Anti-Discrimination Law (6FFLK021)
One prize of £100 per year is generously provided by Sir Geoffrey Bindman (Bindman Partners) through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Anti-Discrimination Laws examination. The prize will be awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Bird and Bird Prize in Intellectual Property (6FFLK039)
One prize of £100 per year is generously provided by Bird and Bird through the Stand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Intellectual Property examination. The prize is awarded on the nomination of the examiners in Intellectual Property.
Clifford Chance Prize in Company Law (6FFLK017)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Clifford Chance through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Company Law examination. The prize is awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Jessica Learmond-Criqui Prize in Human Rights (6FFLK014)
One prize of £150 is generously provided by Jessica Learmond-Criqui through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Law of Human Rights examination. The prize is awarded on the nomination of the examiners in the Law of Human Rights.
Dechert Prize in Property (6FFLK002)
Two prizes are generously provided each year by Dechert LLP. The first prize (£150) is for the student who obtains the best result in the Law of Property examination. The second prize (£75) is for the student who obtains the second best result in that examination. The prizes are awarded on the nomination of the examiners in the Law of Property.
Elgar Book Prize (part 1/second year overall result)
One prize of £200 in books published by Edward Elgar is generously provided by Edward Elgar Co Ltd and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in second year (Part 1) LLB examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the Chairman of the Board of Examiners of the second year (Part 1) LLB examination.
Fasken Martineau Prize in Commercial Law (6FFLK013)
One prize to the value of £150 is generously provided by Fasken Martineau through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Commercial Law examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the examiners in Commercial Law.
Francis Taylor Building Prize in Environmental Law (6FFLK022)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Francis Taylor Building and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in Environmental Law. The prize will be awarded on the nomination of the examiners in Environmental Law.
Gide Loyrette Nouel Prize in French Private Law (6FFLL902)
One prize of £150 is generously provided by Gide Lyrette Nouel and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the French Private Law examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the examiners in French Private Law.
Jelf Medal Prize
The College’s JELF Medal for which we are invited to submit nominations for the most distinguished student (final year), not only in academic proficiency but in social and athletic activities within the College. Members of academic are requested to nominate students. The prestigious JELF Medal is awarded at the Graduation ceremony.
Jessica Learmond-Criqui Prize in Employment/Labour Law (6FFLK009)
Three prizes are generously provided each year by Jessica Learmond-Criqui through the Strand Trust. The first prize (£150) is for the student who obtains the best result in the Labour Law examination. The second and third prizes (each of £75) are for the students who obtain the second and third best results in that examination. The prizes are awarded on the nomination of the examiners in Labour Law.
Judges and Silks Award
One prize of £1,000 per year is provided by the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the single-degree student who achieves the best overall result in the LLB examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the Chairman of the Board of Examiners of Part 2 (year 3) of the LLB degree.
Kaplan Prize in Commercial Arbitration (6FFLK027)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Neil Kaplan CBE through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in Commercial Arbitration examination. The prize will be awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Law School Prize in Jurisprudence (6FFLK906)
Two prizes are provided each year by the School of Law through the Strand Trust. The first prize (£150) is for the student on the LLB programme who obtains the best result in the Jurisprudence examination. The second prize (£75) is for the student on the LLB programme who obtains the second best result in that examination. The prizes are awarded in the nomination of the examiners in Jurisprudence.
Law School Prize in Moral Philosophy (6FFLK512)
One prize of £150 per year is provided by the Law School through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Moral Philosophy examination. The prize is awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Law School Prize in Law of Tort (6FFLK001)
Two prizes are provided each year by the School of Law through the Strand Trust. The first prize (£150) is for the student who obtains the best result in the Law of Tort examination. The second prize (£75) is for the student who obtains the second best result in that examination. The prizes are awarded on the nomination of the examiners in the Law of Tort.
Lexis Nexis/Butterworths Book Prize (part 1/second year overall result)
One prize to the value of £200 in books published by Lexis Nexis/Butterworths is generously provided by Lexis Nexis/Butterworths and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Part I (second year) LLB examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the Chairman of the Board of Examiners of the LLB examination.
Penningtons Manches Prize in Family Law (6FFLK010)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Pennington Manches through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Family Law examination. The prize is awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Mrs Jane Henderson Prize in Russian Law (6FFLK018)
One prize to the value of £100 per year is generously provided by Mrs Jane Henderson through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Russian Legal System examination. The award will be made on the nomination of Examiners in Russian Legal System.
Oxford University Press Book Prize
One prize to the value of £150 of books published by the Oxford University Press is generously provided by the Oxford University Press and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in Part 2 (year 3) of the LLB examination. The prize will be awarded on the nomination of the Chairman of the Board of Examiners in that examination.
Pump Court Tax Chambers Prize in Tax Law (6FFLK011)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Pump Court Tax Chambers through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Law of Personal Taxation examination. The prize will be awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Routledge Book Prize in Criminology (6FFLK020)
One prize to the value of £150 in books published by Routledge is generously provided by Routledge and will be awarded annually to the student who submits the best essay/dissertation in Criminology. The award will be made on the nomination of the examiners in Criminology.
Serjeant's Inn Chambers Prize in Medical Law (6FFLK016)
Two prizes are generously provided by Serjeant’s Inn Chambers through the Strand Trust.
1st Prize: £150 - for the student with the best result in the Medical Law examination
2nd Prize: £75 - for the student with the second best result in the Medical Law examination
The prizes are awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Sir Francis Jacobs Prize in European Law (4FFLK905)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Sir Francis Jacobs through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the European Law examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the examiners in European Law.
Six Pump Court Chambers Prize in Advanced Constitutional Law (6FFLK015)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by Six Pump Court Chambers through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in Advanced Constitutional Law examination. The prize will be awarded on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Slaughter and May Prize in German Civil Law (6FFLM902)
One prize of £150 is generously provided by Slaughter and May through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the German Civil Law examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the examiners in German Civil Law.
Sweet & Maxwell Book Prize
The Sweet & Maxwell Book prize is awarded annually to the single-degree student who is certified by the Head of the School of Law, on the recommendation of the Board of Examiners, to have obtained the highest honours in the LLB in that year.
The prize consists of books published by Messrs Sweet & Maxwell Limited to the Value of £150.
Tony Hickling Prize in Industrial /Labour Law (6FFLK009)
One prize of £469 per year is generously provided by Professor Tony Hickling and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in Industrial/Labour Law examination. The prize is awarded on the nomination of the examiners in Labour Law.
T V Edwards Prize in Criminal Law (4FFLK903)
One prize of £150 per year is generously provided by T V Edwards LLP through the Strand Trust and will be awarded annually to the student who obtains the best result in the Criminal Law examination. The award will be made on the nomination of the examiners in that subject.
Zafrullah Khan Prize
One Prize of £1,000 per year is generously provided by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association through the Strand Trust. In memory of the late Sir Mahummad Khan, a former student of the School of Law and Chief Justice of the International Court of Justice. The prize is awarded to the single-degree student who achieves the best overall result in the LLB examination and will be made on the nomination of the Chairman of the Board of Examiners of Part 2 (year 3) of the LLB degree.
Wragge & Co Prize in Trusts (6FFLK003)
Two prizes are generously provided each year by Wragge & Co through the Strand Trust. The first prize (£150) is for the student who obtains the best result in the Law of Trusts examination. The second prize (£75) is for the student who obtains the second best result in that examination. The prizes are awarded on the nomination of the examiners in the Law of Trusts.
