APRIL MEDITATION

SATAN CANNOT WALK HERE

“But the path of the just is the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. … Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor the left: remove thy foot from evil. Proverbs 4:18-19, 25-27 KJV

“Therefore we were buried together with Him through the baptism into His death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too can walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4 CEB

Thought: Hallelujah! For the Christ of the Cross! Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your faithful obedience in going to the cross for humanity. Help me to withstand the temptations of Satan and follow You in faith and obedience. Amen. (Read Mark 8:31 - 9:1).

Meditation: Peter was very upset when Jesus began to teach them about His death. Jesus spoke plainly about what would happen to Him, that He must suffer many things and be rejected by the Powers at be and that He would be killed and after three days rise again. Peter had a sidebar conversation with Jesus about Jesus’ teaching telling Jesus that He should not be talking like that (wow!), rebuking Jesus. Jesus responds to Peter with a rebuke of His own. Jesus not only rebuked Peter, Jesus spoke directly to Satan, whose idea Peter was expressing. Peter loved Jesus, but he did not understand that Jesus’ mission involved laying down His life, even though He could call ten thousand Angels. Satan was trying to get Christ to avoid walking the path of pain and suffering and seek personal glory. And Satan was taking advantage of Peter’s emotional melt-down, attempting to sidetrack Jesus’ mission. Jesus would not budge. We read in II Corinthians 8:9 “You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor so that you through His poverty might become rich.” Can’t say it enough, “Praise God, for such a Savior!
