Upon arrival in Mandalay, transfer to the hotel and check in. The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure to enjoy.

Pick-up at your hotel and transfer to the jetty for an excursion by boat on the Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun about 11 km upriver from Mandalay. Your visit will start with the Mingun Bell, a striking sight of the world's largest un-cracked bell weighing 90 tons, and will continue with Hsinbyume Paya as well as the unfinished Mingun Paya built as one of the world's largest stupas by King Bodaw Paya. Return to Mandalay by boat. In the afternoon, you will experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including one of the most revered religious monuments in Myanmar, the Mahamuni Pagoda, the Shwe Inbin Monastery, the Golden Palace Monastery, which is a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda, the world’s largest book consisting of 729 marble slabs on which the entire Buddhist Canon is inscribed. Visit a traditional handloom silk workshop as well as a Kalaga tapestries craftsmen’s shop before proceeding to Mandalay Hill

Pick-up at your hotel for the drive to Amarapura, 15 km from Mandalay. Visit Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery where more than a thousand monks live and study; continue to the 200-year-old U Bein teak bridge built in 1782 when Amarapura was Royal Capital. Visit Bagaya Monastery with a superb collection of Buddha statues. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the former Royal Capital of Inwa (Ava) reached by a short boat trip. The visit by horse-drawn carriage includes the Nanmyint Watch Tower, also called “the leaning tower of Ava“, the only remains of the old palace building, Maha Aungmye Bozan Monastery built of brick and stucco and Bargayar Monastery, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts. Continue to Sagaing Hills, a retreat for Buddhist devotees for sunset.
