1.  Mailers (External)

PostalOne! Release 24.1.3 will be deployed on September 19, 2010 to introduce software upgrades to the system. Those upgrades include changes to Mail.dat postage statements for all container types and correct unit weights. Changes will be made for performance improvements within the system.

The following items will be included in PostalOne! Release 24.1.3 and are of interest to external users of PostalOne!

1.1  Electronic Data Exchange

Users participating in electronic data exchange with the US Postal Service should reference the Postal Service Mail.dat Technical Specification and Postal Service Mail.XML Technical Specification for Postage Payment and Reporting (eDoc).

1.1.1  Mail.dat Processing

The PostalOne! system will now correctly apply destination discounts to mailings submitted using Mail.dat® files. Previously, if a Mail.dat job included multiple container records in the Container Quantity (.cqt) file, the system did not allow a destination discount. 63809

Performance enhancements will be made to the Seamless Acceptance Service Performance (SAS) views used to extract Mail.dat Mailer Postage Account (.mpa) data. These enhancements will improve the time required to extract .mpa records. 63975

1.1.2  Mail.dat Postage Statements

Unit weight will now display correctly on postage statements submitted using Mail.dat files. This change impacts all domestic postage statements other than Periodicals where Mail Piece Unit (.mpu) records exist that are not associated with .cqt files for a particular postage statement. Previously, these weights displayed incorrectly, though postage was calculated correctly. 64386

1.2  Dashboard

1.2.1  eDocumentation Reports

Postage statement mail class and line descriptions will more closely match paper postage statements. Previously, some PostalOne! pages displayed descriptions different from the actual postage statement names. 62965
